The nerves will be starting to hit anytime now.

Come on Down. We can do this!!!!!! - well I do want to continue my streak of getting all our predictions wrong after all!

Former Armagh manager Father Sean Hegarty passed away on Saturday RIP

Yeah I heard that. Sorry to hear.

Brought us to Ulster final in 1987. Remember seeing old footage from that match. Was strange to see a manager with a priest’s collar on the sideline.

Where would a priest get the time to take a county team nowadays? What with the low numbers of priests, and squads training most, if not everyday. Different times.

The nerves have hit. Is it just me or is there a lack of build up even here to what is a massive game

Totally with you as regards the nerves!!! Mind you there would be something very seriously wrong if I wasn't nervous.
I did however have a moment of total optimism, positivity & belief yesterday when at the end of the Derry v Tyrone coverage they advertised that our match will be shown deferred at 7pm on Sunday & my comment was "we'll be home just in time to see us winning again" :D

Is it too early for a C'MON ARMAGH? :)

There is certainly a quiet build up to the championship, however, that's merely a sign that the provincial championships will soon be a thing of the past.

Regarding the team for Sunday, my guess is that Armagh will go for something like:

Hughes
Morgan McKay Hughes
McCabe donaghy shields
Sheridan grimley
Hall Grugan forker
Clarke Campbell r.oneill

I'm presuming murnin and oisin O'Neill
are not available

Two years ago, I think grimley was dropped for this game and we opted for a one man midfield so hopefully we've learned from that. We also had an excellent set of forwards on display 2 years ago and we completely flopped so hopefully two years on we will have developed a gameplan to get the best out of them. I'll be going more in hope than confidence

Agree Muckser, but like others are saying, maybe not a bad thing. To be fair there was very very little about or since Sunday's game either. Think the only thing I heard other than the last ten minutes and result was that there was only 10k at it. A far cry from the days when we needed to think about having Croke Park for the Ulster Final. I seriously doubt even if we were there against them'uns that it would be needed now. Windsor Park could probably host it.

Joking aside, I think we'll do ok on Sunday no matter who is named and doesn't start. I won't be surprised if we get a few good games under our belt this year and end up in the stupid 8s. Not that we're brilliant, but I just think we have improved while others have gone backwards slightly. Monaghan wouldn't frighten me after the way their league ended and yes championship is a different animal. Cavan always fail to impress. Fermanagh are just Fermanagh and yeah caught us last year, but I don't see that happening again. Antrim? Enough said. Derry have improved, but won't feature in the 8s. Down can never be written off, but we'll beat them. I'm convinced of that. Too much hurt over the last few years to put right, plus we need that first championship win under Kieran. Donegal are definitely best of the rest and we most definitely should have beaten them in the league only for a poor ref to fall for their play acting. It could happen again, but is less likely. As for the red hands, we've beaten them before when they were hotly tipped in the qualifiers so why not in championship. We always seem to raise our game when our backs are to the wall or playing good opposition. We're making that breakthrough, so why not this year!!!!!

Recent poor performances by most teams have meant a serious drop in attendances added to the pricing, but watch how many hanger ons will join in when we get on a run!!

Jeez the sun must be out if I'm thinking like this.............here pass that smokey thing back here. I'm starting to return to normal!

I’m up and down (must get off this pogo stick) about Sunday. Think we are capable of a good performance. All coming right on the day. We are also capable of brutal displays too.

I can’t imagine us being as bad as Fermanagh in 2018 or the years before that. We need at least to get that monkey off our backs. The longer we go without an Ulster c’ship win, the bigger than monkey will grow.

Anyway, the Carna Transport shirt is drying on the line. Nearly ready for Sunday.

Pass us back that smokey thing @Calm1
