Groups C and D are very interesting.yes inevitable St. Paul's would go to McLarnon.

Groups C and D look very good. Wide open this year as it normally is.

Out of curiosity does anyone know the training schedule mcrory cup teams undertake?
Had a discussion with a friend and he reckons they train more than county teams which I thought was complete and utter boll*cks

Can't say for sure Joe, but I know that was the talk about here last year when St. Ronan's were kingpins. Talk was it put a lot of lads off furthering their football careers and quite a few have walked away. Now if that is true, it's sad because there was a lot of talent in that team, even if some were Antrim lads!! Not all true because I know the tones lad is still playing.

Many years ago they were training 5 times a week during a relatively successful period according to one of the parents and a player told me of a training session with 26 laps and football after that. In fairness that wasnt the norm every year. Seamus Heffron era.

Good to know Niall, but sadly "some" are also means "some" aren't! I wish I knew how we tackle this problem of fall off, whilst keeping in mind that it's always been an issue, but lads (and lasses in their codes too let's not forget) have so many pressures on them today, to be doctors and lawyers and such!

I will be honest. Some might be all. I wouldn’t recognise all the St Ronans lads who are/were also CE lads. The two I do know, Meehan and Haddock, neither were playing in the U21s game yesterday as they were both injured.

Aye to be fair, I'd have to say the same about most of the team, so that really means they could all be still playing and I wouldn't know. I'll go a tad further, when Armagh Senior county players are on the field I don't always recognise who was there and who is new. Damn this "old" thing!

Had a look after I posted. TK was on the MacRory winning team. He was playing on Sunday and has been a starter all year for the seniors. McCambridge and Turbitt both play although they weren’t in the winning MacRory team they both played for St Ronans. Same for Ryan Owens. That’s not a bad return.
