With the Ulster draw due to take place on Wednesday morning, who would we want?

As long as we avoid being drawn in the preliminary round anyone at home would suit..

Preferably Antrim as they are the weakest team in Ulster, but any I would probably be happy with a quarter final home draw....

Probably due to be playing a Tyrone or Donegal though, we have had a bit of luck with draws in the last few years (just not in the results)

I find it hard to get excited about the draw these days. It’s just shadow boxing really, because Ulster has been seriously devalued in recent years because of the back door and then the super 8’s. God knows what we’ll have next year too!

You always knew if you drew a big team, you had the opportunity to knock them out, and they were gone. Not anymore.

Don’t care who we get as long as it’s at home. Would back us against 6 out of 8 teams and we’d have a punchers chance against the big 2.

Get in there!! So it's Monaghan at home, Tyrone in the semi-finals in Clones and then Donegal in the Final in Páirc Uí Rinn. What a summer to look forward to!

Is there a rule if you played two away games you get a home game or did I make this up. I do make a lot of things up .. Is draw at 8.30?
Going to miss the tv show were the interview a Dublin player who says lenister is very tough and we will take each game at time.

You made that rule up I’m sure as we have been away the last 4 years.
It’s on radio also, not tv. it could be at 830 tho

I'd settle for

Tyrone v Monaghan
Winners v Donegal
Derry v Fermanagh
Cavan v Down
Armagh v Antrim

We can but dream

Antrim at home, would pretty much have us in the semi, but sure why not take on a big gun at home. (Is it just me or did that sound rude?). It’s hardly going to set the pulses racing.

Last big game I remember we had in 2012 v Tyrone. Yes, themmuns won, but it was a great occasion, full house, great weather and we pushed them all the way. It’s what the Ulster championship is all about, and we don’t see enough of those occasions especially since the back door was opened.

So I say, Tyrone at home. Bring it on!!

Full Draw

Preliminary Round

Monaghan v Cavan

Quarter Finals

Antrim v Monaghan/Cavan
Fermanagh v Down
Donegal v Tyrone
Derry v Armagh

Semi Finals

Antrim/Monaghan/Cavan v Fermanagh/Donegal
Donegal/Tyrone v Derry/Armagh

What's everyone thoughts on the draw? Personally disappointed with another away tie, but a winnable (so where Down in 2017 and Fermanagh in 2018). But quite easily a banana skin, but the carrot of a real big semi final tie hangs. On the other side of the draw could really be anyone but would probably think Cavan would be favourites to reach the final.
