St. Pats Armagh won’t be far away this year, been knocking on the door this last couple of years and with a very young fast moving team, I think they could give it a real rattle, Kevin McCann is a great asset, son of Francis, players like Young Conor ‘Gola’ Toner and there’s a young fella from APM Ryan “RG” Gorman they call him, they say his left foot is almost as good as his cultured right foot, Ryan Devlin not a bad lad either and with the likes of Shane Crilly and a Macrory veteran Aaron Mills as wing half backs, they’ll be hard to beat. I see this St. Pats Armagh team going far into this competition

I know what you're getting at and even their address is in Co. Armagh and of course so is the school, but they do consider themselves to be a Down School. They were originally formed in the Co. Down part of the town. A friend of mine is from those parts, a former pupil and is a nerd about those things and unfortunately I've had to listen to that and about their successes especially after St. Ronan's last year, over and over and over!
Indeed they do not. Represented very very strongly throughout Armagh in terms of staff, students and indeed on the pitch. There is the ongoing banter about Armagh and Down but to suggest 'they' see themselves as a Down school is wrong. Because I can tell you for absolute fact that many in there see it as an Armagh school just as much as others see it as a Down school.

On a different note - itwould be interesting to look at an Armagh St. Colman's 15 of all time v an Abbey Armagh 15. If anyone was well placed to name the Abbey 15 I could name Colman's. I think Colman's would be stronger. But it would be an interesting subject with many debates!

Ok so let me get this straight.

St. Patrick's beat St. Patrick's and St. Colman's beat St. Patrick's so now St. Colman's play St. Patrick's on St. Patrick's Day in the MacRory Cup Final. Yeah, straightforward enough. Thankfully we don't have a St. Paul's, St. Ronan's, St................

So sadly not only did last year's schools finals not get played denying those lads a chance to create their own history, I see now on twatted that their will be no competitive schools GAA played in the current academic year. When you look at all the high profile "stars" from Ulster that are so proud of playing in those competitions in their time in school, it shows how big a shame it is, that most of the current players will never get the opportunity to add it to their CV. Ah well. Better days ahead for them.

The Harps won county under 17s this year. I would expect they have quite a few at the school...they won't be from Tyrone though!!
