Great result for the Hurlers today in Letterkenny. Twitter looked interesting. they seemed to control most of the game, then went behind, before seemingly taking control in the last quarter. Good on them. Donegal beat them in the same fixture last year if memory serves me correctly. Making a point of going to next week's game.

Whether you agree with what Cahal tweeted or not, it was the wrong decision for the Armagh Hurling Management to make, The Gaelic Life is one of the only papers along with the Irish News that give Armagh Hurlers any real publicity, not only that but their All Star awards over this last number of years have been brilliant at recognizing some of the talented hurlers we have here, and indeed recognizing the Armagh Hurling team itself on at least one occasion.
If anything they've just escalated something that would of blown over if ignored.

Completely agree with you John and I'm a bit surprised and disappointed in management as I held them in higher regard than that. Hopefully after some reflection they'll realise that a pundit will have an opinion and even if you disagree - and I regularly disagree with a lot of things I hear in the media about so many things, you have to allow for them to do a job. Certainly call them out if it's factually incorrect, but as you say, let stories have their day and it'll be yesterday's news soon enough.

Does the GAA not allocate money to each county for gear etc for their squads before the league campaign starts?
I think this used to be the case a few years back anyway and i think it was around 1,000 euro for each player of a panel of 30

The reason I ask is I was reading the article from sidelineeye and notice the team photo from the game at the weekend. Most of them seem to be wearing Armagh gear but it seems to be different colours, one boy has a GPA jumper i think, another has his club gear on and 2 boys just wearing jumpers which has no affiliation to Armagh GAA

Have the hurlers chosen not to wear the gear the county has provided or is it a case they haven't been provided with gear yet?
Maybe its just a case of the GAA haven't provided Armagh with the money for gear.

I know this has nothing to do with the game at the weekend but curiosity has gotten the better of me

Plus I've also seen club teams that have a more professional set up than this. I haven't been to many games this year as I'm always working abroad but is it the same case with the senior footballers?

I wasn't at the game at the weekend but surely this was a good result for Armagh considering conditions and playing away from home. Hopefully Armagh can push on and get promotion with last 2 fixtures at home

They have just got their gear this week. Wouldn't happen the footballers but armagh is a football county apparently.
