Clonmore who aren't even in the junior League anymore. As for killeavy (who have 2 football teams incidentally) and derrynoose I would be absolutely amazed if anyone on either squad would find 12 games acceptable. This is a football county at the end of the day!

Derrynoose entered the reserve league too so they must be using them games as extra, not sure if you are allowed to play your same team in reserve league games or if that is even governed.

As far as I know if you started the previous senior match you can't play the following reserve game but realistically it's not going to be governed, it's about getting fellas game time. The first year we got promoted to intermediate we had 22 games and the shield final and it was brilliant, loads of games and we had a pretty small squad at that stage. Understand that junior can be different for one reason or another but 12 games is a poor enough return. 5 or 6 home games on an entire season

Have Eire Og entered the reserve league or missed the trick too? to be fair the motion was put in by clonmore with plenty of time for clubs to see it and canvas support against it which wasn't done so the clubs will just have to get on with it. Realistically teams cannot afford to lose a game if they want to go straight up this year which will bring an extra edge to the junior league. Teams with county panelists (footballers & hurlers) will find it difficult to get out.

We're in the reserve league which is 5 games this year in North Armagh. Big issue with number of games imo, is a return to 4 divisions of benefit I wonder??

I don't think so. The way the league is now linked with championship gives it extra importance. When there were 4 divisions league games ran off after teams were eliminated from the championship and unless you had a chance of being promoted they weren't played. Also if you have 5 games from reserve league you only have one less than you would have if there is a split. Plenty of football to be played.

But reserve football is not new competition and is not a supplement for seniors games, it has always been there and is for squad/casual/emerging players. We have always had a team in the reserve leagues and additionally there have always been far more games than this year so that point is void.

To be fair @Eireogatron the senior and intermediate only have 14 rounds so there's not a massive difference based on what @The Sideline Eye has posted. I was actually concerned that it was maybe half the way you were describing it and the sympathy levels were up. Even considered a boycott. Wasn't gonna go to half the games!!

Does the junior league not split anymore like previous years?
No, a motion from clonmore at the county convention was passed. This helps fixture congestion and players picking up injuries as it has been previously stated the senior and intermediate leagues play 14 games and the junior had previously been playing 19 games a year. Now we have u19 so the young players on teams are going to have that too.
