It was a win and no more against poor opposition

When we moved the ball at speed from our defenders into the firward line we created chances. Once it slowed down we found it difficult

Kickouts today were poor
Defence was well led by donaghy and mccabe. His black card was v hatsh
Midfield - struggled until Sheridan came in. He is obviously not match fit but put in a great shift. Charlie got a lot of ball but runs with head down and doesnt see the movement ahead of him
Forwards - jemar v good, grugan and murnin good. Grimley played well when he came on - full of running
We need to play with at least 3 forwards up.
I thought niall rowland played v well when he came on

Potential is there - very warm conditions today so hopefully a good recovery during the week and a suitable draw on Monday.
Great travelling support again

Enjoyed the game without it being entertaining. Strangely though even when Sligo went ahead, I didn't think at any stage we were gonna lose it, but boy did we play poorly at times. They were just rank. Not as bad as Westmeath, but rank just the same.

Never heard as big a bunch of babies as their supporters too. When we go a free the ref was cheating. When they got a free the decision was too slow. If we disposed them, we targeted them. If we caught a kick out clean (rare as it was I know) we were pushing in the back and so it went on.

Sorry folks to say this too as the lad was having a great game, but McCabe did trip and the card was correct. I'd love to know what their card was for. A few were telling us after the game that he was mouthing off to the linesman because he was disposed 3 times and it was unfair of him to let it go. I'd love to believe that was true.

Congratulations to Geezer & the boys, great to get another win & in truth we should have won by more, thank goodness that flukey goal came near the end when we had finally managed to open a gap in the score. Off to bed a happy Armagh supporter, would absolutely love it to be a double victory this week-end. Early start in the morning when all roads lead to Clones :D

Who do we fancy in the draw? Leitrim are probably the weakest left? Kildare are beatable. Monaghan Tyrone Mayo cavan to avoid. Offaly or Clare playing today. Minefield possible. Bet we end up away again !

He roared in the linesman’s -Neilan- face so I assume that is why he got it

You can only beat what is in front of you... but by god Sligo are awful!! Armagh first 20 mins were guilty of not playing the conditions because we have practiced this all week attitude. Into a strong breeze they played forker in full forward... they struggled to get the ball from kick outs - the midfielders were tucking into the middle and Hughes was trying to hit the 2 half forwards on each side- the wind was strong and the ball wasn’t carrying and it end up being a free for all on the wings with our midfielders standing in the middle of the pitch. Forker saw 3 balls that came in- lost 2 and kicked a wide. Then he move out the field... to be fair he got a black card but it was necessary, last man tackle, took one for the team. It worked to Armagh’s advanatage because second half they employed the same tactic from kick outs, ball travelled with the wind and Hughes hit murnin and Grimley countless times. First 20 mins armagh relied on mcshane and vernon drawing fouls running at them... no right footed free taker so were relying on Hughes hitting 21 yard frees... it just wasn’t right . Last 15 mins and second half- took over, solid defensively with some great scores going forward. Again, we don’t know where this team is at- the opposition we have been playing has been awful. Big challenge the next day out- let’s hope for a home game though!

Marren was sent off for 2 yellows. First yellow in the first 5 mins for close line Donaghy... second yellow he nailed Donaghy with a shoulder to the head in as he was lifting the ball along the end line. A dirty doing

Would it be right to say that we can only be away to Leitrim or Offaly, if they win today, in the next round.

Yes. We will Play at home unless we get Leitrim away. Heard that Monaghan and Tyrone can’t draw each other

Would like to take on anyone except Monaghan, Mayo and Cavan.

For me I'd like Leitrim, Clare or Kildare in that order. Would like the 1st balls out of the bowl to be Mayo v Tyrone followed by Monaghan v Cavan :D

does this mean we can't play Fermanagh in round 4

I was told it was an open draw, but there are so many stories and in truth no one seems to really know and that suits the suits as they can do whatever the hell they like..........or is that just my perception???

I thought we could bull!! Not so sure now. I'd still prefer Them'uns or Monaghan'uns!!

I can't go next weekend anyway if it's on the Saturday. Stupid weddings. Why get married and be miserable when they could stay single and be happy? Come to think of it, why should they be happy?
