National League 2019

I know everyone has been talking up Clare recently but I'm expecting a comfortable win tomorrow. They've competed well in division 2 in the last couple of years and should have beat us in the qualifiers last summer but they don't have the resources to keep this going. They will struggle in this league this year along with Fermanagh.

We have a full forward line of Clarke, O'Neill and Campbell who didn't feature against them last year year. Hopefully we will take some of the chances we left behind last week

I will have some of the 50/1 on Armagh by 16 points or more.

I'm glad dry January is out of the way

I have no idea where I get my confidence in Armagh from.

As last week, very very frustrating.

One point separates the bottom 6.

2 evenly enough matches sides, that said I thought Armagh were marginally the better team in the second half. First half both teams gave up great goal chance, Clare in particular missed a sitter. We were caught wide open 2 or 3 times up the middle. I thought our forwards lost their way after Clarke got sent off, Jamie needs to be a lot cuter as he was playing really well. Best for us we’re Sheridan (first half) Clarke, shields, Vernon and McCabe. R O Neill was the best player on the pitch today, v good. Tough task up in Navan next week I hope the young Clare lad is ok, looked like a very nasty leg break

Definitely agree with you on ONeill. Thought Sheridan drifted in and out. Out a great hit on Brennan tho. Mackin was very good first half too

Very disappointing again today in the end but not defeated which is a positive. Discipline and poor tackling has continuously hampered us over the last couple of years. Jamie needs to look at that - C McManus gets as much abuse but never sent-off. McKay, McCabe and Morgan the same.
Some people saying we should beat Clare easily - over the last 2 games we've played against them they have been stronger IMO.

Firstly, speedy recovery to the young lad from Clare.

As for the rest of the game, thought Clare were bang average and kept in it by two very fortunate goals and having an extra man for a good chunk of the game. We were excellent in spells but a lot of the time especially in the second half our forwards were non existent, lads coming out had nothing to aim at.

Shields, Jemar Hall and O’Neill were fantastic today, thought Mackin and McKay were very good too and McKay got two very harsh yellows.

Clares first goal was handpassed into the net and I don’t see how the second could have went in, thought it hit the bar then Blaine caught it.. even so we can only blame ourseleves, did think management got it wrong tactically in the second half we f’ed about too much in our own half and only looked like a decent team when the likes of Shields took players on. Should have had something to aim for in the full forward line.

As for Soupy, he mustn’t like Newry as nothing went his way today thought he was very poor, but oh well 2 points from two games isn’t bad, onwards and upwards.

McKay can have no complaints over the second yellow. Shoulder in the face. The first one, as you say, was very harsh

Why did Forker chose to kick the ball long with 2 minutes left on the clock. Surely the right thing to do was to keep possession. We lost the ball and Clare moved it up the field leading to the sideline kick which resulted in the goal. We can blame refs, conditions, umpires or whatever but it's the simple things that are in our own control that we should concentrate on.

Whoever threw the bottle of water is a prick
To me the stand out moment from a game that had a lot of moments.

I'm seriously hoping that whoever did that is on this forum and justifies being an asshole of the highest order. There were also at least one coin or object also thrown and someone even threw a programme, although I think someone in front of them was glad of the programme to shelter from the rain. Folks if this is what we have degenerated to and the standard that we want and accept among our support, then a serious rethink on what we are is needed and needed fast. That bottle is mis-thrown and hits a child in the face or on the head and does a serious injury. If it's my child I'm doing time for you. It's a goddamn game at the end of the day. I drove home last week knowing I'd to head straight to a wake house as I lost a relative during the game. Get grip on reality before someone gets hurt!

That lad at the start of the game was taken to hospital in an ambulance because he ended up with Charlie on him. Both those lads had reason to be annoyed at the ref. Didn't see either team do anything daft then. I'm sure Charlie and some of the lads will at least send a message to him because it's just a game!
