To be honest the only team we ‘tanked’ was Ballyhegan in the final. Got past Kileavey and Thomas Davis by the minimum in the 1/4 and 1/2 finals.
We’d only one player drop down from the senior panel, the bigger influence was some of the minors who hadn’t played throughout the league stepping up...
Mixed emotions about this. Great to see young talent getting an opportunity but there’s potential for this to be a disaster.
McGuiness played a fairly strong team against Roscommon before Christmas and if he takes the same approach tomorrow night we could be in for a pasting.
Could be doing...
No, it was a player who has struggled with injuries over the last few years, and subsequently game time. In reality, this individual may have been better starting the year with the junior team and trying to push on.
Can’t imagine many clubs who see themselves challenging for a senior...
It was a mixture of both to be fair. We had one player drop down from the senior league squad then a few minors emerge who hadn’t been involved throughout the league
Completely disagree with Wide Ball myself. The current reseve leagues within the county don’t lend themselves to developing players. In the previous few years we were lucky to get a handful of competitive games.
I understand not every club is blessed with big numbers but any club that wants to...
All the best to the DLBs and St Paul’s tomorrow. Probably won’t say it publicly to too many Clans men but hope they can get over the line tomorrow.
It was a rough week for ourselves after the semi final but our success with the junior team last week has softened the blow.
Lurgan football is in...
Gutted after yesterday, as has been the case many times recently.
Hard to know where we go from here. An ageing squad who have been to the well many times but have been unable to win when it really matters. I’m worried for the future should some of our key men decide to call it a day. I hope...
What's happened to Clann Eireann in this division
Lots of players injured and unavailable. No crying though, few young guys getting valuable game time.
Hope so from our point of view but wouldn’t be surprised to see him tog out. Great player who has always caused us problems over the years.
There is enough in the Nab team for us to worry about without him playing as well.
Predictions for this weekend?
Can’t see the Bridge causing Cross too many problems, based on having seen them on several occasions this year against Clann Eireann.
Jarly Og needs a massive game in order for the Bridge to be successful but could well be curtailed due to having to worry about...
Fair play to Tullysaran on a great performance tonight. I’d say the Sarsfields took them for granted and had their eyes on the semi final. Very disappointed in their experienced players, look to be an ageing side but take nothing away from a great performance from tullysaran
Yes, I think that would leave us in a great position. A Clann Eireann win on Sunday would hand them the league based on score averages.
Great to have things going down to the last game at both ends of the table.
With Granemore slipping up yesterday it leaves the possibility of three teams finish on 20 points. I’m assuming that in this case the league is decided on points difference, then promotion on head to head? Can anybody confirm this?
