Relief to get 2 points yesterday - I think this could really get the lads going and I'd be very happy with a solid performance next week followed by 2 home wins!

Our defence was excellent but in fairness it was a very tame effort from Tipperary. We still need to tighten up on a few things discipline wise. Forker got a ball moved up in first half and McCabe flattened a Tipp man going nowhere in 2nd half for example - 2 simple points from these. Morgan played really well but getting the yellow from word go really leaves him right on edge, great management taking him off.
Jamie also picked up a needless (now customary) yellow. He is excellent on the ball but was the only Armagh forward not to score yesterday which is his Achilles heal.

Positive but still a game of survival at this stage!

Jamie may have been kept scoreless but was seemingly directly involved in 1.6. That is more than Fermanagh normally score in a game !

Yes he had a good game and his movement was excellent. He did miss a couple of chances in particular the first of the game 20 yards out - it is his weakness in terms of consistency of accuracy - was the same at NY and with us in previous years. Not having a dig, just an observation. There is no doubting his talent and play-making.

Just on another note. Enjoyed and appreciated the acknowledgements made yesterday at half time. Honestly-much, much deserved. So I am truly sorry for bringing this up, but....
For me, one of Dante's circles of hell is an eternal repeating loop of the 15 to 10 minutes preceding the start of an Armagh game at the Athletic Grounds. Those droning announcements drive me nuts. Makes me think of the sort of tactics used by the CIA to drive General Noriega out of his compound in Panama
Don't worry about making that "announcement". I commented on it a few weeks back. He's a former school teacher and seems like he misses lectures! My attitude is say the damn thing and leave it LIKE OTHER GROUNDS DO!! We've all been in Croke Park for their announcements and I love to hear it being done in Irish, but it can be done in seconds not freaking hours!!!

He’s a number 11 now lads. And you can’t double tag an 11.

Good man Calm! I had a feeling that there had been previous comment on this. Glad to know its not just me. I guess the authoritarian tone to the announcements sets me on edge a bit. Like sitting in a tense school assembly waiting for the headmaster to announce he has identified the culprit who wrote 'baldy bastard' on the blackboard. I'll get over it.

As a sidenote regarding Sunday's match, the atmosphere was non existent & this in a match that we were winning & eventually won!!! I would imagine at times the boys felt like they were playing a challenge match given the lack of support from the crowd. Admittedly we were coming off the back of a bad defeat but surely that was even more reason to get vocal & get behind the boys. Come on @Diarmi & @Eireogatron we need more from you on Saturday night & definitely for our home match against Fermanagh, I can't do it all on my own ;)

To be honest I am dubious about the source which is why I worded it like this. Just wondering if anyone else could substantiate it. I hope its not true.
