Anyone know how much it will be into the semi finals next weekend? I assume they will be priced the same as intermediate and junior semis
It was £10 to watch the games online today. Bit steep if you ask me considering Down stream there semi finals for free last night.Anyone know how much it will be into the semi finals next weekend? I assume they will be priced the same as intermediate and junior semis
Agree completely that £10 is a complete rip off and just taking the hand out out of those that have followed Armagh tv for some time. I'm not quite sure what they're trying to prove with this and I've been a massive advocate of all that they do, but this takes them into the realms of the big broadcasters. I love listening to Damian and the guys (except that childish boring one JohnJoe - sorry but had to say it), but "the ecclesiastical capital" is played out. Please please please come up with something new and be more like Barra (I think it is, but might br Barry) and Paddy who have loads of facts and player knowledge. They all do a great job, but sheeeeesh , freshen it up.It was £10 to watch the games online today. Bit steep if you ask me considering Down stream there semi finals for free last night.
Playing devils advocate here - what if a social club was broadcasting it - a £10 is then very cheap.Agree completely that £10 is a complete rip off and just taking the hand out out of those that have followed Armagh tv for some time. As for Down doing theirs free, I'm almost certain that was because they made a major mess up of one of their games last week (maybe before that) and I can remember Atv doing the same because of an issue, so they get no credit from me for that. On the other hand, them'uns do their double headers at £5
You're absolutely right of course Joe and I'm certain that's correct as I know St. Paul's in Lurgan and Wolfe Tones show games. I also hear the commentators mention various bars etc that seem to tune in regular, but they would be an exception rather than the norm. By that I mean I'd expect if they had 100 people paying then 10-15 might be in that category and rest would be private individuals.Playing devils advocate here - what if a social club was broadcasting it - a £10 is then very cheap.
I've watched a few from home and still cheaper than driving down and paying in
Plus I can pause the game, get a drink or answer the phone and not miss out
Is there a seasons pass for Armagh TV?
A fiver would be fine - but a tenner is excessive. You're absolutely right of course Joe and I'm certain that's correct as I know St. Paul's in Lurgan and Wolfe Tones show games. As I say I'm a big supporter, but as a business person I think it's a bad model. They talk about their "volunteers" and their sponsor so therefore the overheads are low, yet they charge a premium price and yes it's for a great product on the whole. If it's simply a cash cow, then free at point of supply with advertisers and sponsors can bring in so much more money than PPV. simply because the numbers when it's free are a lot higher and then advertisers get value for their ROI. You can plan better as you know what your income is at a given time.
I can't disagree with all your positives and indeed don't try to adding more of my own. I guess if it's a PPV model, then at £5 you could get 1000 viewers as opposed to 100 at £10. Not hard to work out which pays best. Basically the same discussion as gate prices.
By the way I think it's great value, but then I have a decent income and no young kids to support etc. so can afford it.
As for the season pass, they did in previous years, but didn't offer one recently

No Joe, they refer to "Linwoods Armagh tv" all the time. Again sadly an example from them'uns, they brought in a new sponsor this year to cover the costs of streaming to keep the cost low to their followers according to their bumph on Twitter/Facebook. That'll change too no doubt when th agreed sets in.Fair points
In relation to the sponsor is it just ArmaghTV now or linwoods armaghtv?
I dont recall linwoods being used anymore - could be wrong
Totally!!A fiver would be fine - but a tenner is excessive.

I think you're right with the balance thing and as for how many are aware of it, sure it's talked about all over the island. It's fair to say we all think it's a great service and are not knocking it or the people involved in any small way, more just the seeming greed that the county board have brought to it. That "balance" would suggest that £10 is ridiculous. £5 is a great compromise and like @M18 says it started out only a few years back at a pound or two. It's been a rapid rise to the current level, double what it was last year and that's a pity as much as anything.I can't attend club games and it feels like I'm missing out. I'll be watching the games next weekend and think it is a great service - I wonder how many people are aware of it?
With the prices, I think they need to strike a balance between how much it would cost to attend a game and cost to run Armagh TV.
£12 for the double header on saturday
That’s what I was wondering. Only really want to watch the second gameWill you get a discount if you only want to watch one match?
