At the risk of opening a can of worms (and I'm only just quoting this by the way because you mention AK) is Aaro Kernan the most honest player Armagh or an Armagh club team has ever seen?

I say that because almost all the other Cross players were involved in stupidness either in the tackle or off the ball. Almost every Maghery player was involved in stupidness either in the tackle or off the ball. Aaron just seemed to get on with it or ignore it. Even in his collision with Finn Mo he barely flinched and just wanted to lift the ball and retake the kick, almost looking embarrassed that it was his old chum that he collided with - I didn't think there was much in that by the way as Moriarty was standing along the line where he was entitled to be when the kick was taken with his back to Aaron. I may have misread or mis-seen that though, there was so much going on. But my point remains about AK's honesty as a player. His only concern was moving the ball. He also had one of the finest cross field passes I've seen in some time. He's just in a completely different league.
I agree completely with what you’ve said. What a footballer. And he shook off the dead leg too, he looked like he could hardly run after it but was still one of the best players on the pitch. Young McConville impressed me a lot too

Cheers. I just don't think we praise the best in the way they deserve and are quick to pick holes and point out perceived errors. Correct about McConville. There quite a few superb displays, from both teams it has to be said, just obvious that Cross stood out because of their superiority all over the field. Again (boring, yawn etc.) to me AK was MOTM by a mile.

He’d be up there as one of my favourite players ever. It’s been a joy to watch him and still is. Was worried he would be going off.

Lots of the best players just get on with it. Rory Grugan is another one, just plays football. Same as Mark Shields, Charlie Vernon, Andy Mallon etc

@Big Jim I agree about Aaron Kernan. Very honest player.

I even remember once he was sent off in the Ulster club, got the MOTM and praised the referee in the interview for having a great game! Where would you ever hear that?

Class player too. Badly missed by the county.

Grugan and shields get involved a lot. Grugan can be particularly stupid at times. agree about Kernan and his honesty. He’s a great player although he’s clever too. I have seen him get involved but he knows when to and when not to. Thought OONeill was man of the match tho

Yes - it shows what the county missed this year (or did not pick him even though he was fit yo play for Cross).

He was recovering from an operation on his foot. He missed st mary's sigerson run and wouldn't have been able to train fully for armagh due to the nature of the injury. Should be firing on all fronts next season for armagh. Hopefully Miceal McKenna from Grange gets another crack at county he was brilliant in this years intermediate.

Does anyone have the scorers of all points and goals in the Cross Maghery game? Had a debate of sorts regarding one player and we were standing beside each other at it!

Crossmaglen Scorers: Oisin O’Neill (2-1), Cian McConville (0-3), Rian O’Neill (0-2), Callum Cumiskey (0-1), Alan Farrelly (0-1), Colin O’Connor (0-1).

Maghery Scorers: Aidan Forker (0-4), Stefan Forker (0-2), Niall Forker (0-1), Gerard Campbell (0-1).

100%, after that incident he never even sought to hand out redemption. He was singled out a few times for treatment by the Maghery guys but he just got on with it. The finn Mo issue, I think AK was just looking to take it quick, Finn Mo was possibly just on the pitch and Kernan tried to kick it around the back of him. Was merely a storm in a teacup.

One thing I must highlight also, Cross should be in for a hefty fine as one of their selector entered the field of play and blatantly refused to leave the pitch for a good two mins. He continued to remonstrate with the ref, despite him shouting leave the field of play. I wonder will this be followed up on? Anyone know who the guy was?

Don't be silly - Cross can do as they like.

Of course, as a Portadown man, I would have to mention Andy's brother Brian in that bracket as well.
