I reckon the league is over! C19 action by the weekend unfortunately. Parades etc all gone for 17th
Massive rumour going around that all GAA games will be cancelled this weekend and for the foreseeable. The positions at this point will be the positions for promotion, relegation & championship!!!

Hope that is wrong but heard it tonight.

Great win over Fermanagh at the weekend. Always nice to beat Ulster rivals. Anyhow, let's keep our get firmly in the ground as Roscommon are visiting this weekend and a rival contender for promotion.

This is where Armagh will show their mental resolve. We are within touching distance of promotion and a win will set us up nicely for the championship. Staying in division 2 would be bad as promotion guarantees 2 years of top tier football in the championship and experience against teams who do well in the championship which is what we need.

Previously I would have been worried about going into div 1 but on the strength of some of our showings I have changed my mind. We certainly need to be more consistent but there is no doubt that the quality is there. I would fancy our chances against 5 of the div 1 teams with only the Dubs, Kerry and possibly Galway out of our reach.

Automatic?????
Well down the list in my book

I think we really miss Jemar at the minute. He's very good at winning breaking/dirty ball round the middle, an important link between midfield & the forwards, can attack at pace & often sets up a score or wins a free & can take a score himself, he is great at getting back to defend & can be difficult to mark.

You now, before the Fermanagh game I was worried that would happen and was hoping we could get over it so we could be in top. Much as I would like to see the game on Saturday night, I would gladly take promotion. :):););)

I'd be disappointed that we miss a couple of games but would be more than happy finishing top of the table :)

Was this a national or local rumour? I was looking online and the GAA medical, scientific and welfare committee was due to meet last night to discuss the C19 among other things. It is highly possible that the games will be cancelled or played behind closed doors with the latter being a bit of a balls but I think unlikely. Bit shitty for Fermanagh and poor Ricey, Karma's a real bitch sometimes. ;);)

Personally I cant see Jemar starting decent player but we have a lot better on our squad now. I cant see who he will be replace. Maybe half back or something. Any word on comiskey? Is he still on the panel or injured?

While I generally agree we certainly didn’t miss him on. Saturday night. One of our strengths was winning breaking ball around the middle

While Jemar had a great year last year no way he should be an automatic starter for me anyway but i guess the game is all about opinions. Rory Grugan workrate is outstanding you have soupy, Oisin Oneill and for me Aidan Nugent is one of the team most impressive players i have seen in the last year he has both workrate and skill. A good problem is that we have a lot of really good forwards and one bad game could keep you out which is a great motivation for the players!

Yea Jemar had a great year, but I think if Oisin had of been properly fit he prob would have started. I like that our whole forward line actually just change. Aidan nugent i cant believe how much he has come on. Great ball carrier too. Personally Niall Oisin Grugan Soup nugent jamie rian (Possibly Jemar Turrbit or Murrin fighting over the one spot. Id put Shiels back in half back let him run deep great problem to have... Prob our best team since 00-05 era.

We need to see where we are at and have high intensity games. In two games this season we have won games by 10+ points and against Kildare the game was controlled. Bar a complete collapse against Laois and lacking a killer instinct against Westmeath we have been relatively comfortable playing in division 2. Teams in division 2 and 3 are fighting to play in tier 1 football this year and bigger challenges lie ahead and ones we can win if certain areas of the team are sorted out.

On the C19 issues again, I hadn't factored in the TV coverage. Eir Sport are due to show our game and Donegal v the Diving Cheaters on Saturday with TG4 due to show 3 games on Sunday. Whatever about TG4, Eir Sport are not going to be very happy to miss out on showing these games so that could have an impact on any decision. St Patrick's day parades is one thing, live sports coverage is a totally different beast.
