Sorry lads but as much as I have a huge amount of respect for dual clubs, if you have the ability to name 41 players on a Saturday then you should be able to field 15 the following week regardless - not all of those guys will play hurling. I guarantee there are boys there who don't play hurling, didnt make it off the bench last week who will be wondering whats the point now

I agree completely. An ideal opportunity to give fellas a game . What difference would it make if they got beat?

Any word on Derrynoose and the deduction of their points? Understanding was they lose 2 points as well as the match points similar to Cross 2's last year who were on -2 points for a long time.

The rules may be different this year, Forkhill didn’t field against Belleek in their second league game this year and still managed to get a point. Not your typical year.

No they aren't, Belleeks and forkhill pre-agreed to split the points due to a covid issue I'm led to believe whereas derrynoose just didn't field with no reason given other than their hurlers had a game the next day. They should be getting a deduction once the county board have their next meeting

How are we still talking about derrynoose? Éire Óg will win the league if it finishes unless they lose to both derrynoose and Belleek and derrynoose win every game and they have all the hard teams to play.

I was merely asking a question as it will have an impact on the league. It's the first time I asked.

I am au fait with how the league will pan out, results dependant. Cheers

Does anyone know what the story is with Corrinshego? Bad form this past two years and doesn't seem to be getting any better with numbers dwindling. Haven't seen any of their matches this year.

Did corringshego not have a few men transfer to other clubs? Mullaghbawn maybe? Don’t quote me on that

After their championship final appearance a few years ago they lost boys to emigration I believe. They operated at intermediate level for one year too but have been on the decline now for a number of seasons due to poor numbers.

Only two players left to mullaghbawn and two abroad apparently! Sad to see with the extensive club they're currently building.

Will be hard to see them fielding & finishing out the remainder 6/7 games

Seemed to be going well for a couple of years but struggling a little. Would love to see them turn it around as they have been looking very progressive off the field!

I have to admit corringshego is one of a couple of clubs I’ve never played against or even been at their grounds. Hopefully they turn things around as the potential seems to be there

Two players transferred to Mullabawn.

Over the past 5 years or so the senior team has also lost 6 or 7 lads to emigration, a couple of older lads have retired, and there is very little coming through in the meantime from underage to senior level.

Played at intermediate level in 2016 after a very good season in 2015. Also got to a junior final in 2017 but emigration and retirements had already started to to hit by then and it's only got worse since with transfers and more players going abroad.

Always had good time for Corrinshego, they’ve come some length since their up and down field up behind Daisy Hill!

It’s always hard to build a club in an urban area sometimes, particularly where there is so many pulls, particularly soccer in that area of the town. I know that there was a fair Cross influence over the years with Frank Harvey and I had a lot of friends from back in the day through school. They’ll wax and wain like a lot of clubs so I hope they don’t drop down too far.

So, this info came from someone not connected to our club but can only take it at face value. Meeting was looking more at senior/intermediate but top of the agenda was whether to reschedule fixtures when clubs are hit by covid or batter on essentially and what way this would impact the leagues. Potentially impact the split. Again, can only relay what I've been told from outside the club
