I can see at the time of this posting the poll seems to be in favour of making the forum private, what's the advantages of this? Surely allowing non-members to view the discussions might entice them into creating accounts. Currently I still think we need more members to get the clubs' thread to what it can be.

Why does someone have to become a member to post? Unless each user is going to post under their own name what purpose does it serve?

There is no advantage whatsoever and nothing sinister about the poll. In fact if it remains it's much simpler. It was simply a question a member privately asked and as we are here for the members it seemed sensible to ask for everyone's opinion, rather than enforcing something.

As for being a member to post, in line with [almost] all other forums (yes there are exceptions), an account to post is necessary. We're currently looking again at how the new GDPR affects us and we believe we maintain the correct procedures and protocol to ensure the safety of everyone's information. It has however been pointed out that under the new legislation each poster/member must be accountable for their own posts. As we have no way of currently identifying members, we may have to introduce a verification of identity. We are hoping this won't have to happen, but if it is the case, then that's how it will be. Everyone is welcome to unsubscribe at any time. The GDPR is the reasoning behind the original poll. Please remember that the owners of the URL and website have had to register and verify their identity. It may indeed be a case of everyone being identified, but as in the message "sure if everyone has nothing to hide, what would be the issue with that?" Everyone on Facebook posts under their own identity and there are no issues as long as rules are obeyed.

Hope that helped, but if you have any further issues or questions, please feel free to PM and I'll do my best to help and answer for you.

Don't suppose anybody has any idea where I could get my hands on Armagh GAA Golf head covers or knows of anyone who could make some Time to spruce up the bag!

Jimmy I did see something like that on eBay either earlier this year or late last year. I remember seeing Down, Cork, Dublin and maybe one or two more. Sorry I've no links or better info, but I know that's where it was. I was looking something else for a golf mad Down friend of my daughter.
