Championship 2021

I'm not sure who the draw favours. I'm know Keady would have like a stiffer test in the semi final before potentially playing one of the other 3 teams.

I expect Middletown to get through the other side of the draw. Hard to tell what way Cuchulainn is going with playing one team in the Antrim league and another in Armagh. I know they lost the Antrim league final. I would say they have improved a lot from last year but still fancy Middletown to get over the line by a few points.

Derrynoose seemed to be struggling this year. They have took a few heavy beatings in the league and cup. I know they fancied themselves last year and with Mattie Lennon managing them this year, I expect a well drilled team fired up for championship. Although its hard to beat a wining mentality and a good league going into championship.

Any dates fixed for championship? I head October time but not sure if that's correct. If that's the case, it gives any of the above teams plenty of time to get the work done before championship.

I took Keady last year because I thought they had the younger fitter team so I'll try them again this year.

Good luck to all teams involved

Dates released today, Armagh out of the rackard cup 3 or 4 weeks now, league nearly over and they set c’ship on Oct 2nd and that just the pre-lims. I think that’s a joke, probably means November finals. Surely this could have been started mid/early sept.

It's always extremely hard to base championship off league form. It's great to have momentum but ultimately its all on the day.

One thing I will say is I fancy an upset somewhere. Not sure which game though but do feel that any team can have an off day.

The premlim rounds fixed for 2nd October

Over the past years all adult championship finals have been worked out dependent on when the championship winner would take part in the ulster club championship

No point in having six or eight weeks from county final to ulster club

The winners of the Armagh championship will play the Derry Winners in the intermediate semi final on 11th or 12th of December. QF which the Armagh winners wont be in will be played 27th or 28th of November. Them dates seem a bit crazy for me  Although id imagine that's how the county board came up with their dates.

Have we any indication on how the games should play out this weekend? It's peculiar given that they haven't met in the league this year given CHC division 2 status and their participation in the Antrim league. Did they meet in the McCormack cup this year at all ?

Should be a good game I would imagine. CHC have had a pretty good antrim league and the division 2 was their second team. They would probably want to make it a closer affair than last year's final

What's the thoughts on this weekends games? Croabh Rua be big favourites for the junior again after the league this year I take it? Cuchulainns should have too much for Portadown? How do yous think derrynoose will get on against middletown? Imagine middletown will have a lot to spare?

From what I could gather Derrynoose picked up a few injuries so it'll be interesting to see what they line out with. I'd agree with the portadown statement. Think lurgan and keady play this weekend also

As I mentioned above its hard to beat a wining mentality and a good league going into championship. 1st and 2nd place in the league are deserving finalist in the championship with comfortable wins in their semi finals.

I think this could be potentially one of the best finals in years and I don't expect a point win either way. I just hope the ref lets it go and its a high scoring contest.

Keady are a young team with serious potential and have a lot of boys back playing again. They had a very good league campaign and gave Middletown a good clipping scoring 7 or 8 goals that day. That wont be the case this time around. Middletown have been winning majority of championship this past 10 years or more and not a team to be overlooked. They are a big strong physical side and wont be bullied.

This could easily be a draw but I'll go with Keady with a 1 point win

Who do Middletown play in Ulster, are they senior this year or can they play intermediate?
Back down in intermediate, play Castleblaney now in a few weeks.
Remarkable how this Middletown team are still winning championships considering they haven't won an underage championship at any level since 2009, fair play to Keady really tested Middletown and probably had them on the ropes at half time, but that was always to be expected as keady are a quality side.
Well done to Craobh Rua on the junior win once again, I think they play Donegal champions St Eunans now.

Would an Ulster title be on the cards? Sorry I’m not that up to speed but I imagine Derry and Antrim will be strong at intermediate level
