What has happened us in 12 months.

From great attacking team last year to so passive, negitive non tackling team this year.

Are we trying to make sure were defensively sound and shackling our forwards.

A bad shot from rian and it ended in a goal that won that game for us.
He wasn't letting go of the refs hand anyway

Geezer out. Collect your p45. Clown. Etc.

All before the match was over.

I think that’s all from the same eejit.

Calling for geezers head is a bit moronic and is frankly a boring analysis after that game. I suppose Jack o Connor was a disgrace after Kerry’s similarly slumber performance against Mayo.

No idea what people expected today with all the moaning, we were never going to walk this game. It was always a result over performance type of game. It looked to me that Westmeath were set up to prevent our kicking game, it wasn’t as if anyone in full forward line was one on one for an obvious ball in, which happened a bit more often last year. Even for the goal, I think murnin was surrounded by 2 or 3 Westmeath men and got a flick on it. What’s the point in forcing a kick pass in that scenario.

The main problem was that intensity was way lower than it needed to be, and that was very predictable after the Ulster final. The goal gave them a platform to push on from and allowed them to play a different game, keeping the ball, making us work and finding spaces eventually as our press wasn’t good. I don’t think there’s much else that can be read into it, and would doubt that Tyrone will be changing their plans after it.

The amount of armchair critics on this are absolutely sad. Yes armagh were poor but this was an extremely loseable game immediately after an incredibly physically and emotionally draining loss.
People seem to take an utter delight in posting the most negative comments about players and management as soon as things start to go wrong.
The players kept going. They kept battling when it looked like all was lost. Surely they deserve a smidgeon of credit for this instead of overwhelming criticism.
It had to be very difficult to raise themselves after the Ulster Final. Provincial losers record in the old qualifiers was always abysmal so in my eyes any win was an achievement. Westmeath have better players than a lot of people realise.
Yes it was a lucky goal but was it any more lucky than Derrys. Those balls are there to defend and if you can’t then goals are always a possibility.
I do believe a lot of players are off form and geezer has a lot of major decisions to make.
I personally found the aidan nugent starting spot hard to Justify and this was backed up by his Display.
Confidence seems to be at an all time low.
Jemar could not have been fit if he saw no game time there.
Thank god for Andrew Murnin. A colossus. Shout out to Ben crealy as well. Thought he did a lot of excellent work and will be better next week.
Armagh are going to be completely dismissed by everyone now and this is fantastic. The criticism on this forum alone will be deafening.
We will beat Tyrone next week. !!!!

My whole post was constructive compared to the previous stuff that had been written. Plus I had criticism and positivity in it. How in the name of god was it positive only. Tbh it looks like it is time for by bye forum.
Lads, it's a discussion forum - we're all 'armchair fans'. If you disagree with a comment, put a constructive response back and challenge the opinion. I for one take each game as it comes and like to discuss the positives and negatives. If its positives only, bye-bye forum.

Theres always some OTT comments, can ignore those.
What i'm finding embarassing is these pitch invasions our fans do after every game. The whistle had barely went and our fans had the players swarmed. There was grown adults pulling at Rian demanding photos within seconds of the final whistle when he clearly wanted off the field. The players are only human and should be given some time to compose themselves. I'm sure very few of them were feeling the best after the performance.
Wait around the back for the players after if you really need to see them!

That wasn't a personal shot at you Lemallon - I agree with a lot of your post bar the first line.
I don't know why we would feel that today was going to be easy - we have no god given right to win games against decent teams like WM. They are far better than Down and Antrim and really should have won this evening.
I agree that this win could kick-start us, and you never know where it would go, but tonight's overall performance was just so poor. Gaago pundits slated us tactically and I was scratching my head at times in the second half with the respect we showed them.
Anyhow, we got the flukey goal needed and the result - onwards and hopefully upwards.

Agree with this. It’s gone too far. They deserve some peace

We robbed that game tonight , but we deserve a bit of luck after coming out the wrong side of a number of marginal games , my biggest fear was the hangover from the Ulster final and it was clear that it was evident and
we just didn’t fire , performance against Tyrone were the pressure is on them now will be a big measure of whether we are a serious team or not .
Biggest annoyance was the game management at the end , two shocking kick outs two points up , will we ever learn ? . Anyway we stuck at it and outside penalties we haven’t been beaten in championship since Donegal last year.

I posted at half time that we had been dreadful and I stand by that I didn’t single out any players or the management. There is a time to have a discussion on the managements future but that’s now. second half we improved slightly and I’ll give credit as we stuck at it and kept at it until the end and stole a win.
Hopefully that’s the final loss worked out of our system and we go onwards and upwards here
