As the only Cullyhanna person in the world not currently drunk I feel it is my duty to thank everyone here for their good wishes. The good will from all the clubs in the county (including Cross lol) has been incredible. Our larger, more successful neighbours were actually amazing and were on hand to offer what ever they could to help with advice on how to handle the big day. I met a lot of people at the game from other clubs and all were wearing a Cullyhanna headband. It may not seem like much but it really means a lot.
We had club members travel from England, America, Australia and one big guy and his son from Barcelona. It was great to see them all in the hotel beforehand and in the stadium. A very strange feeling looking around Croke Park and being surrounded by your club mates and friends.
The game itself will not be remembered for it's quality but we don't care, we have the boy with the lugs, although in this case just one lug. I thought the players and management did themselves proud with how they played and conducted themselves. No cynical shite just honest hard football.
To Stephen, Pearse and all involved, congratulations, you have restored the pride to a once very proud area, we will never forget these days. UTP.
In fairness to both teams at least they had a go and there have been far far worse games the past year , good to know the county and I suggest the province were fully behind you all yesterday .

Now go get hammered fella …..or at least get your self a massive snack box .

Fantastic result and massive congratulations to all at St. Pats. Every family member should.........sorry, WILL be so proud. Something most will dream of and few will achieve. That's a very special small group you are now in. Never mind making the county proud. That's immaterial right now. It's your time for your community. Enjoy every second one and all!!

It was an absolute pleasure to be able to be at it. What an atmosphere.

Dare I say I thought the ref did a great job, actually in both games yesterday. I was told they were both fairly new at that level. Both let the games flow but weren't afraid to make big calls. Yeah a few mistakes as far as we could make out (at least we weren't really sure what somethings were blown for, but seemed to happen for both teams so fair enough. It didn't affect the scores), but it was a massive occasion with a lot of noise so overall, I'd have been happy no matter who I was supporting.

I know there was the slight controversy near the end with the "disallowed goal", but he had blown well in advance of it being struck and the screen actually showed two players touch it before the rattle to the net. Maybe they could feel grieved at not getting the advantage as much as some would have given, but if he hadn't have given the free and they blew it wide, there's have been screaming that he should have give a free. He was never going to be right. Fair play to Cullyhanna for not losing concentration at that point and got quickly ready for the free. Calm heads indeed.

It was one of the best refereeing performances I have seen in a long time. We were blew for over carrying twice and they were both correct calls. I think you might be confusing the first game though Jim about the free??

Though the ref in the first game was poor enough, gave a few harsh calls against Listowel and the black card and non goal were totally wrong.

2nd game didn’t notice the ref which is probably the biggest compliment you can give one. Probably had an easy enough job as there were no big incidents and Cullyhannas discipline in the tackle was fantastic.

I just watched both games again. First one was so much more boring than I remember at the time. Must have got totally caught up in the occasion. On the non goal, my take on it was that there was an advantage given from around halfway across the "D" and the #8 took 10 or 11 steps and hops the ball then a further 6 before taking his shot and could have blazed wide or got blocked. It's only an advantage if it works out. Damned if he does........ If the ref let it go it had to be disallowed (and I believe the ref had seen that) for over carrying and the outcry would have been justified. In my opinion he simply gave the first foul and I still think he was right. I see where you're coming from though and if the suggestion is that they are frequently given, then I'd 100% agree. The better team definitely won even though there are what ifs!

Cullyhanna most definitely played a really fantastic game. Some of their passing was even more impressive than I remember

Fair play to Glen, what a team and what a game of football. St Brigids deserved the win on the day but Glen showed their character to knick it.

Conor Glass is an absolute rolls royce of a player and comes across as a real decent lad off the field too, would probably be the first player in Ireland I’d pick if we could add someone to Armagh.
