Good point - I think the 4 you mentioned find it tough to play a full game (Grugan is probably the least affected). The likes of Duffy, Nugent, TK etc have had very little game time in the league - the older boys could have been rested more
Easy win today as Fermanagh were very poor although we dominated right from the start. Game was over after 20 mins so no surprise the level of performance fell off considerably.
A few disappointing things today-
Blaine was caught out on that cross ball when they should have scored a goal...
For the Fermanagh game, I do not think we will see too many changes or surprises. Given the way they set up, we will need plenty of 'workers' as opposed to 6 scoring forwards.
Blainne ( a certainty)
P Burns
A McKay
P McGrane
G McCabe
A Forker
C O'Neill
C Mackin
B Crealey
J McElroy
J Og Burns...
Will Rafferty replace Blainne, who has been excellent?
Will Morgan play again?
Cumiskey seems to have left, and O'Hanlon not near first 15.
So we basically have very near our full squad available
Who wasn't available for us today?
Maybe Conor O'Neil, Grimley. Any others who would push for a place on the first 15?
I think we had nearly everyone we want togged out today and available to play.
Lots of reactions- and over reactions above. In my view, "winning" the Division 2 title doesn't matter at all.
But as it was clear that the team really went for it in the last 10 minutes, but were not able to get the win, that is concerning.
is it a psychological barrier - or are we just not...
Not surprised at all - already promoted and a cup for division 2 means little.
I suspect Geezer feels the same.
Tomorrow will he like a challenge match, no real significance. I hope we use it to get boys who need it game time - Rian, Nugent, TK etc.
Some people above not worried about winning an Ulster title?
Are you mad? Other than the All Ireland, this would be biggest trophy we could win!
Go win Ulster - then see how far we can go in the All Ireland. We have a very strong squad and lots of players who can come in and keep the team at...
Well done to all concerned- promoted with a game to spare, very impressive.
Next 2 games are really meaningless so I think he will give other players a run out, as well as getting more game time for the likes of the 2 O'Neills, Duffy and Nugent.
Fermanagh in the Ulster championship in 4 weeks...
Put Rian and Duffy into that team named (possibly for Crealey and Turbo or Conaty) and that could well be the championship team. I think he may well leave Murnin up top and will play Rian around midfield.
Very quiet on here and only 2 days until the Cavan match.
What will management's attitude be - go full blast or continue to get some players game time?
We need to beat Cavan to get promoted and then we can rest players and focus on the championship.
Beat Cavan and we are promoted - simple.
If we cannot beat Cavan then we have no errand going into division one amongst the big boys.
Watched Cavan v Meath and they didn't look much, so we should beat them by 4 or 5 points.
