Best day of my life :D:D:D:D:D:D:D A video I watched again & again & again. Got the DVD of the match a number of years back but was quite disappointed as it literally started with the throw in :( I wanted the parade, the anthem, the atmosphere not just from the throw in.

However, Happy All Ireland Anniversary :D

Yes I have the dvd as well. Someone at home taped the Sunday game that day as we were at the match, but I can't for the life of me locate said tape :(

My tape is stuck in my video which currently isn't working :( but by hook or crook I will remove said tape in 1 piece.

17 years ago today.
Jaysus, where does the time go? They’ll be the Jubilee team on AI final day before we know it.

The thing that strikes me the most is that it is now 17 years, which was the length of time we had waited before our Ulster breakthrough in 1999. the 1982 - 1999 period seemed like a lifetime - this seventeen years seems to have flown by. A sobering thought.

And before anyone says it, I know what the issue is - I'm getting old!!

in many ways this post is quite sad. A passing anniversary that looks no closer to being repeated.

I remember working in Tyrone in 1997, when they beat us in the championship, and the feckin’ slagging I got. We weren’t in great shape. We had only beaten Fermanagh in the championship in the previous 4 seasons.

So, if you’d have told me then, that we’d be All Ireland champions within 5 years, I’d have handed you over personally to the men in the white coats.

Anything can happen in football within a few years. Anything is possible. Never give up hope that we can reach the summit again.

This time next year, Rodney...

I find it really hard to believe that we're nearly at the 20 year mark. This time 19 years ago a good night was underway in the CityWest. It is a yearly reminder of the level we used to be at and the aura there was around the team then. Agree with Pat, things can change very quickly, and often when there's little hope on the horizon. But things have to happen to bring that change about. It doesn't happen if we continue to keep doing the same things.
