2020 season - write off?

Ok so to knock this on the head, I agree I know nothing about what I was talking about and made it all up just to look good and stupid at the same time. Sure it's what I do and just wind people up. You have now proven that you are an authority and know an awful lot about this. For that I am genuinely eternally grateful. Thank you.

Now just to repeat and so we can get off this and move on because I know I'm not the only one that doesn't understand it, HOW is the organisation, clubs and counties going to survive with zero income. Simply answer the only question I asked and no point going back to the cash in hand, because we both acknowledge that will dwindle over the next 20 years. I already stated in my original post that you took umbrage with that I have no answers, only questions. You have now appointed yourself as the one with answers although no answers only arguments. You're quarantined with nothing else to do on a Friday evening so it'll be no bother to you to let us all know (well yeah just me). Life is paramount and protection of life is the ultimate goal, so therefore games can never return if we follow that to it's ultimate conclusion. If that is wrong, when will it be safe to return to games. @JoeH mentions above that vaccines may not fully work, or uptake can be low - the flu vaccine is a case in point where some believe it actually makes you take the flu or other sicknesses and therefore won't get it.

Are you sure you're doing the winding up and it's not the other way about my friend?

Correct me if I'm wrong (you always do:p) but I never said the organization could do without income indefinitely. You asked in the last post "how the organization can survive without an income for another 6, 9 or maybe 12 months with income?" And I explained they'd the recourses to last a full year without income and have enough cash to support struggling clubs and councils. So I believe I've already answered your question.

As for the bits in bold, I never said I had all the answers and I don't agree with that reasoning at all.

Cool. Glad we got that sorted. Passed a few hours. Stay safe!!

Nope not at all. It's a play on the figures quoted. I know several get a little more and others do it without any remuneration at all.

With the mortgage/loan your own club has on the new facilities, will it suffer without income from the use of that facility, games or the bar?
Several get more than a little more mate. Let’s be honest about it. The money being paid for club management these days is an awful lot. Well not these exact days but you know what I mean.
I imagine it would but I don’t know the ins and outs and am not going to pretend that I do

It’s a lot of conjecture and none of it may happen. Plus, I can’t see them leaving the leagues as they are meaning both us and Roscommon go up. Especially not with other teams in the running to be promoted/relegated. And if they do we could just as easily have Dublin and or Tyrone away.

It was a "kinda tongue in cheek" remark!

Why is everyone suddenly so argumentative. Nit picking every single bloody thing. Jesus the world is having severe issues and now on this forum, what used to be a bit of craic, with anything being said mostly in a light hearted way is now taken as serious and gospel and an excuse to just have a go.

GL reporting earlier that inter county action unlikely before October.

I think the championship is gone for 2020. Club action the same.

Think there should be some effort to play championship competitions if possible, just a straight knockout, no promotion/relegation

As time goes on, and as the calendar is squeezed more and more, I’d imagine a knockout AI series will be the only thing possible.

I’m just not sure it will happen though. It’s going to be too much of a risk for players, managers and officials.

We might have to content ourselves with TG4 re-runs until 2021.

I’m talking club football. At this stage I think County football should be written off for this year

So that's that sorted - games will be played later this year and thankfully some sort of normality will have returned then from work, social amenities, school and games.
