I just watched the match back again. It was a brilliant match which really ebbed and flowed. Our fitness and bench in extra time were massive factors in us winning the game. The drive that McQuillan, O'Neill and Burns gave us was unreal. That's why McGeeney probably holds them back. Injecting that kind of raw pace and power into a game is a great weapon, that few other teams have. If you started them and bought other players on for them, I don't think you'r getting the same impact. So the best team on paper mightn't actually be the best team for an actual match.

The amount of soft turnovers we gave away and bad decisions we made is a concern for the final. Some of them were really horrendous and so unnecessary. That's one area that we will have to improve on massively. Galway are incredibly methodical in their build up and can hold the ball for long periods, so we can't be coughing up easy possession, that they hold and hold and then score off, as the clock then becomes a factor and the team starts to force things a little harder and the chances of another turnover increase. We have to be clinical in every aspect of the game and put in a 70 minute performance.

Team id like to see
.Hughes

Burns
McKay
Mccambridge

Jarly
Forker
Kelly

Crealy
Grimley

Duffy
Rian
McElroy

Turbitt
Murnin
Grugan

Alot of different players could argue they should start, I think that team adds more physically than the team v Kerry and we need that as Galway are a big strong team, on their knockout we would have Duffy Rian Crealy Grimley Kelly and jarly, and then add in murnin for are own, they went long with most kick outs v donegal, allows us to add real pace with 20 to go with mcquillan, soupy and Conaty to really go at them
The half forward line apart from Rian doesn't pose a great deal of scoring threat

Superficially this is true but it doesn’t really reflect reality. McElroy offers little scoring threat (then again neither does Barry McCambridge latterly, nor Peter McGrane, formerly). You just never know. None of those players are actually playing as half forwards. Grugan is playing at half forward and could easily peg on a few from play and a few left footed frees. Conaty is bombing up and down the pitch and can score none one day and 4 in a half the next.

In any given match one if our scoring threats can be held scoreless, and oddly this does seem to be the case each week. I don’t think that necessarily means that they have played badly. Murnin and Conaty in particular have a huge non-scoring role.

Cant wait for next sunday, think we will have to get big games from all our top players, galway kickout will be key as theres a mistake or 2 in gleeson. They are rightly favourites but tueres not much in it. Bench to be key again but this is somewhere galway have improved this year due to all the injuries they have suffered.

We've all seen the banner at the games.
Not in the least.

A very relevant post and topic and if anyone is uncomfortable with it, then the issue is with them and not you or the post.

The McNally family, like so many other decent people need to know that we as a community stand fully behind them in their efforts to keep the memory of their sister alive.

No female or indeed any person should feel threatened at any time, but especially in the security of their home.

Most likely Natalie and her entire family would have been involved in the manic scramble for tickets, would circumstances been different for them. We keep them in mind as we look to enjoy the spectacle and use it as perspective.

Fair play to the lads. 2 great causes.

A lot of southern media peddling the same story about the referee Sean hurson denying them in 2022 final against Kerry with a dubious free

Had my first encounter for this game with an undeserving fan getting a ticket for the final today. A mate of mine, who isn't an Armagh fan, was telling me how he got a premium level ticket from some guy his cousin in Kerry knows who had a spare one going. He did say that he hoped that I got one though and could maybe snag one for the Hill on the day of the game, so that was thoughtful of him.

Someone i know who actually told me one time they wouldnt watch armagh if they where in the back garden informed me of the 2 tickets him and the wife got. From a club in armagh they are not members of but live in the area. Said club has 4 times more tickets than members. Some one tell me again how its a fair system based off equal fees paid to county board means equal tickets.

Same..whilst an Armagh fan he has never been to a game not mentioned following Armagh yet he is going. He is known to have a bit of money and probably spent a few £ getting them. Told him he didn't deserve it, I've spent a bit going to games but others do it way more than me and are way more deserving.

Equal ticket numbers for all clubs is bonkers. In Galway it is based on senior, intermediate and junior status. Senior clubs obviously get a larger allocation than intermediate or junior. Not a perfect system as technically you could have one senior club with low membership and an intermediate club with big membership. However most of the large member clubs are generally always senior. Hurling only clubs get a smaller allocation for a football final (vice versa for football only clubs if we get to a hurling final) and again it is based on senior, intermediate, junior status. No system is perfect mind you.
