Armagh ladies 2020

We
They

need to clear out their ears and listen to what is being sung not what they want / wish to hear
Well "up Armagh" does sound similar though.

Mind you I'm completely with @bcb1 on this. Whoever recorded it and shared it should be put out at the earliest opportunity. If they think it was funny to try and show their team mates in a negative light, they have no place being there. Even worse if it was the changing room. What about the privacy of your team!! BBC are loving having a go as usual.

I think it’s just the age we live in. People don’t think beyond getting likes or retweets. The amount of stuff posted publicly is unbelievable.

Common sense clearly doesn’t come into play. People’s privacy or safety is rarely, if ever, considered.

Yeah you're probably right Pat, but if we keep saying that and no consequences, then we'll never suppress it. As I say, my biggest gripe is actually the fact that they took a phone out in the changing rooms and recorded that - Privacy issue and not even just a female thing. Then it's all about showing your mates in a bad light without recourse. I don't care who it was that did it. I still firmly believe that they have no place on, in or around a team. Unless that is enforced, this will continue and cannot be condoned regardless of the celebration or what was said.

Truest part you said - "common sense clearly doesn't come into play" Common sense ain't that common!! Oh and I get the "caught up in the moment with celebrating", but if the ground rules are there, ie. no phones in the changing area NO MATTER WHAT!! then that leaves it easy to deal with.

They\we are now left dealing with the press having a field day with what should be (and truly still is) a fantastic feel good day for the hard working girls of Armagh Camogie and especially after they had to deal with the shenanigans a few weeks back around their semi-final. Let's hope this blows over quickly.

If they were singing ooh ah up Armagh what exactly is the issue?
It's always good to have a go at the GAA

Pr%cks like Nolan, gregory campbell and all such likes will play on this
Especially when they're told that the north is more or less being treated like the south

Cos that is not all they sang. Yes they did sing the Up Armagh version but at the beginning and end of the video circulating it’s 100% clear there is an up the ‘Ra version.
This won’t end well. It has to be same as a soccer club singing in support of the UDA.

What we have to do is act like grown ups. Take our medicine, address the issue and move on.

this can hang over Armagh GAA or it can be dealt with. Them are your choices

Incredibly stupid and a great way to sour a positive occasion.

Apologies should be quick and fulsome. This is a dreadful representation of the county.

There are people in places like Belfast putting trojan work into making Camogie and Ladies Football appealing to the other side of the community. Good progress has been made in recent times, but this sort of thick headed shite is the last thing they need.

Listened again. Does sound like it starts with up the ra before they change to up Armagh. Poor
First of all well done for listening to it again and being grown up enough to change your view on it. Hopefully others will do the same.

Within Armagh GAA there should be no more claiming that this has been misheard. There should be no claiming it was harmless or acceptable.
Right now we look like Milwall.

We should publicly condemn this behaviour in the strongest terms. Take whatever punishment and get on the front foot on whatever positives this can be turned into

And what? The girls were celebrating after a good win and weren’t doing anything wrong. You can’t not celebrate just in case some arsehole picks it up wrong.

It’s not the fact that they were celebrating that I’m getting at. As @Peter grimes and others have said, it does sound like there was a Ra version. That’s the issue.

Yeah I think one or two are singing the 'original' with the majority singing 'up Armagh' and that's down to ignorance as opposed to anything else. It is however enough for our friends in the DUP etc to beat the drum with unfortunately.
I totally agree with the others re the person who shared. There should be a rule among squads of no video recording in dressing rooms or buses - photos only. But, that's the youth of today!

Have watched the video countless times, clear as day some are genuinely singing up armagh, however there are definitely up the ra in there as well from a few. We in the GAA and Armagh do not need to offer anyone sticks to beat us with. What sort of idiot (and i dont use the word lightly) decided to film and post that, an absolute betrayal of teamates and they should never represent our county again. Definitive action is needed on this, whether we like it or not, the county is now under scrutiny during what ahould have been a time for celebration.
