Armagh Ladies

Saturday is a big day, as in addition to events elsewhere the Ladies are in a repeat of the League final
1.30pm: Kerry v Armagh (LF league) - TG4

Hopefully when the associations formally combine they had do a better of scheduling. Could the Ladies not have played in Kerry the same week as the men's team? It may suit Kerry, but you cannot travel from Kerry to Galway to see the Armagh game, except in a helicopter, a lot of Armagh people will be on the road and will not be able to see the game on TV even if they were interested.

Sorry if it come across a bit harsh but i think its ket. I would only watch it if there is absolutely nothing else on.

I would be confident in saying the worst Junior mens team in Armagh would beat the ladies.

I get it they are trying their best and fair play to them, but its just not for me. Nor do i understand why it is almost being forcefully pushed into the mainstream (same as the soccer)

What a completely ridiculous comparison. Mind you I would imagine some of those playing on the worst Junior mens team in Armagh wish they possessed the skillset & scoring ability of Aimee Mackin.

Not sure what age bracket you fall into or your family circumstances but your mother must be so proud!!! Also I sincerely hope you don't have either sisters or daughters, your post is completely condescending to all females who participate in our game & I would hope it does not reflect the thinking of the majority of males in our County or in the Association. You probably wish that females didn't attend matches either!

Ah come on @GAAMAD . The ladies deserve better than that.

The rise of the ladies game, and in our own county in particular, is great to see.

Personally, I wouldn’t miss the Armagh ladies on TV.
Each to their own. I have a lot of respect for the women, or anyone who plays the game really. And fair play to anyone who makes it their business to follow the ladies, i tip my hat to you.

It just isn't for me. As much as i have tried my best to watch and support it i just can't warm to it. Again, if that says more about me than the ladies game then so be it.

Aimee Mackin is different gravy. She is defiantly a shining light and im sure a large percentage of people go along to games just to watch her (similar to Clifford). Her skill levels are off the charts, and she really is a superstar in all aspects of the game.

Its the pace of the game and the physicality I dislike about it. Also i find it is more open and 'off the cuff' than the mens game. In a way you would think this should making it more appetising, but i am probably too used to watching the mens game that i find myself nearly over analysising the women e.g why is she shooting from there, shape etc.

@Ard Mhacha 13 you represent everything that is wrong with todays culture. I have made a simple point, shared by a large majority of the population, and whilst mounted on your extremely tall horse take offence to it. You then go one further and make the point that i would probably wish women didn't attend matches. Why would i think that?
It isn't difficult to see who wears the trousers in your house (or dress). Wet wipe.

Pathetic. Why comment if you don't care?

If you've nothing constructive or nice to say (say nothing at all then), best hitting the back button and reading another thread!!

The saying relates to a high horse not a tall horse  This post & your previous one are the reason why you are on my Ignore list for this site & now I will return to blissfully ignoring all your comments.

I watch it occasionally on tele. Some skilful players. I want them to win and do well. Same with any Armagh team.

Kerry 1-13 Armagh 3-11

Great comeback from the ladies. Kerry landing some good scores. Armagh couldn't get within 4-5 points. Some great saves from Anna Carr, who was POTM. But Blaithin Mackin started the comeback with the first of 3 goals in 6-7 minutes. The last one a real clinker into the top corner. Great win.

The squad flew down to Kerry apparently.

Let's hope the lads can make it a double later.

I thought they were way off the mark but the few changes made such a difference. Still didn’t expect them to get 3 goals late on but fair play for not giving up.

Anna Carr set the tone for that late surge with them saves.

Another win there on TG4, albeit they cut it fine at the end. The Dublin goals did the damage.
Notably, in the women's game they were able to pass the ball back and forth to the goalie to wait for the clock to run out.
