Congratulations to the Armagh Ladies for their Third Ulster in a row. They showed remarkable spirit which is a an example to all Armagh teams, getting goals at the end of both normal time and extra time. Comhghairdeas, mná Ard Mhacha.

You've got to love this group of ladies - they play the game the way it should be played and they're a credit to their clubs and county. They'll need a bit of luck from here on in but any team with Aimee Mackin in it has to be in with a shout!

Just a point on the match today v Meath which I thought the Armagh team should have won partly because they didn’t take the chances they had in the end but the referee in that match was nothing but appalling and I have to say in a number Of games I have seen lately the ladies game is been seriously let down by the standard of officials , and it really needs to improve. Anyway I think Armagh should be on a good spot to qualify for the quarter finals and they were more than a match for the All Ireland champions today .

Fully agree. I have usually been really impressed with the standard and consistency of officiating in the ladies game. Hopefully they will progress.

I agree - the ref gave them nothing. But they would have won easily if they had taken their chances
Still - augurs well.

Was at match today and thought that our team played yet another very solid game. They should have won that game quite comfortably except for interventions by the referee. In the first half when Armagh had the advantage of a strong and consistent wind I am guesstimating that the free count would run approximately 25 to 5 in favour of Meath. In the second half the count was 8 to 4 in Meath’s favour, so I assume somebody put a bug in his ear. Throughout the game there was a consistency to the way the ref called overcarrying; if two Meath women bottled up the Armagh ball carrier then overcarrying was the call, and when the reverse was the situation then a free for Meath was the call.
Aside from that, though, it was an intense and competitive encounter, and we should give these fantastic ladies much more support. They deserve that at the least!

Disappointed to see the dreaded blanket has infected the ladies game.
I cant say that i am overly familiar with the ladies game at senior level , but from what i have seen I think for the game to grow the officials need to allow a bit more physicality in the game , its not the players fault they seem to be constantly perplexed at the decisions made by the referees but that's just my opinion , however there is a massive improvement in skill levels and the games I have seem have always been quite open , all teams put players behind the ball now when not in possession , the difference between the blanket and this is they aren't constantly parked in their own half they are running up and down the pitch constantly , positions mean nothing any more .

Monaghan beaten again today. Armagh literally won pulling up as winning by 15 points + would have meant they headed the group and it seems that they preferred to come second, so they won 2-12 to 0-4.

Big game against Kerry this coming Saturday in Tullamore. Quarter final against a team that I believe they will beat. This is still ‘Armagh football’ and these women are extremely deserving of our support, so come on, pack some of your wives and daughters into the oul A-40 and give them some good Orange cheer! Armagh Abu!

Absolutely
A contender for game of the year across any code was Ulster FInal against Donegal. Armagh never stopped believing and have such firepower that they can turn a game on its head within seconds.
I would be confident of a result against Kerry. Should have won league final but an astute Kerry substitution changed the flow of that game. We will be ready this time

Didn’t work out well. Disappointed for them but gave opponents a lot of ammunition doing this. If you are serious about being an all ireland contender you cannot shy away from any team.

Disappointed for the squad - can they go again next year? Goals win games!
Aimee a joy to watch once again - all star hopefully!

I think unlikely. Some key players another year on the clock and B Mackin in Australia I think this year was their best shot.
Yeah was thinking that. I'd say O'Hanlon could be nearing the end also. They have been a credit to the county - probably had their best shot a couple of years ago but not to be - that's football.
