ARMAGH U.20S

Their no9 was motm for me.Big strong and covered every blade of that pitch.Without him and we would have had a chance!Ah well there's always next year or the next........By the way there was some atmosphere even though we got beat it just keep you wanting for more Ulster final days.

disappointing day for squad and management, didn't play to their full potential, maybe due to shenanigans all week. However they should reflect with pride on their achievement and look forward to the future- just don't let Mc Geeney anywhere near them

Disappointing result today but given everything that has happened over the last 2 weeks it was always going to be difficult. I think we lost out a bit in physicality, typical Derry team, big & strong. Great to have reached an Ulster final & historic that we were in the 1st U20 Ulster final. The boys should be very proud of their achievements, they played some great football along the way. There is hope for the future of Armagh county football :)

No reason for them not to.

Just on Rian though, would someone knock sense into the lad. A super talented footballer that can easily destroy defences but he could, no, sorry should have had a straight red for his antics for the first card today. He's bloody brilliant and instead of tormenting his marker the way he had been for 10 minutes he decides to lash out. For crying out loud, he's a pleasure to watch on the ball, just stop the crap and play. His second yellow came from a very lazy tackle and hurt us. The game was gone then, but we should have at least finished with our best player on the field. If any of our Crossmaglen friends on here can have any ANY influence over him, just get him to be a superstar. His potential is enormous, just slightly smaller than his ego at the minute. His uncle Oisin was arrogant but controlled and he knew how to use it for him and his team. He proved he was one of the best ever forwards, didn't just think it!

You do know the mix though .... the arrogance of his uncle Oisín and the fire of his da!!! There’s only ever gonna be one outcome! But seriously though he is an outrageous player and as he matures he has the capacity to be one of the best there is. He is only 19 years old. He will mature

As @PatMustard said about another post, I have to say that did make me smile!!

Yeah I know and maybe it's because I want him to grow up already and be a superstar. I just love the way he can ping a score, play his man, pass the ball, drag players around (and I don't mean physically). He just frustrates you as he can easily gain a reputation that's harder to shake. Even Oisin concedes he has a lot of learning to do. I love a sportsman on the edge. With fight and determination. It shows their will to win. But control is the key.

To be honest that team makes me believe we have a future if those lads are "encouraged" to stick at it together. Potentially another '92 team that became the heroes of' '02

I would tend to agree with you about the potential. The key is the next step. The likes of Rian, Duffy, McQuillan, Owens, McDonnell are all great talents, add in Oisín O Neill and a few others and you have a serious core of players there who could be very good. They are 3-4 years away from maturity. Get the right structure in place now and don’t lose this opportunity the way the last few opportunities have been lost
