Admire the love fest between the Cross and Cullyhanna posters. Something to do with 'the enemy of my enemy is my friend'?

did McQuillan not play for the U20s recently? maybe he chose to play for them and your not allowed to play for both. could be as simple as that
IF he played with the U20s then he can play with the seniors. IF he did that then he would not be eligible to play for the U20s again (as was the case with thon new Kerry protestant [or prodigy - I always get those two mixed up] last year). I'd imagine that he'd be useful in U20 form, so that genuinely could be the case. Was anyone at the U20 game? Can anyone shed light on that? ANYONE?

Sure it’s a well known fact that I’m a Cullyhanna man ..... I was tempted to the dark side by the promises of riches and fame and as much mushrooms as I could eat by Tim Gregory at the tender age of 8 so it was too hard to turn it down. I’m very proud of my Lower Creggan heritage and won my first Ulster football honours with the mighty St Pats primary Cullyhanna ....a feat I see the school completed yesterday for the first time since we did it in 1986!!!

Mackers I agree completely on his ability and he does appear to have a great attitude. The problem I can see is that the county manager has other players who have been there all season and he has to weigh up how they would feel if a player got what they might see as preferential treatment because of who he is.

County football managers have to be a hard bunch by the look if it. Lee Brennan is a top club player but walked away from Tyrone because of lack of game time. I expect though if Ross is still about next year he will be a starter. He may even get a chance this year.

I think this is the issue. We need to blood these young lads in like Ross and Duffy along with others. We have been looking at Grugan and Hall for far too long at this stage, players who offer us nothing. If it is the case where McGeeney is keeping him for U20's then fair enough but if we have such quality players at our disposal why not use them.

On another point i think we are badly stuck for a full back. No quality back there at the minute but hard to see at the minute where our options lie. Could we make a full back out of one of our current midfielders? Possibly.

All I want to see is Armagh with the best players playing! I think if we played our best hand were capable of competing but if through stubbornness etc we don’t get our best players on the pitch then it’s going to be a struggle as we seen with Down. Although it was a very good win especially in Newry. That same performance tho in Omagh and we would been hammered. Get more pace in the team tighten up at full back get A proper partner for Jarly og and that could change tho. 3 of them starting forward line including our captain were very poor in Newry. Soupy Osin O’Neill Ross McQuillen Andrew Murnin Grimley Creally Joe McElroy Jason Duffy all should be seriously considered for Cavan assuming injury free. Jemar Ethan Grugan Charlie (maybe better option at full back) Mckay all in danger. Looks like Sheridan and Burns will miss out through injury. Forker also didn’t look fit v Down not sure if injured or not.

Tyrone won 3 AIs with half of them complaining that Harte was leaving out some of the county’s best players.

Now McGeeney is no Harte but he is the manager and you have to let him manage. None of us see what’s going on at training or know the full story behind team selection.

Harte has always silenced his detractors with success and it would be difficult for anyone to argue with what he’s done. Personally I think Armagh need to make the super 8s this year.

What do they offer us?
Grugan is an average footballer who doesnt play consistently enough. Doesnt inspire as captain of a team. I could go on.
Hall - an average footballer also. Trys hard but not strong enough for inter county football.

Hi Guys, new poster so go easy.
With regards to Grugan, I noticed something on Sunday before throw in which didn’t sit well with me in terms of his leadership credentials.
Willing to be corrected if my memory is failing me here too. Anyway, as the parade was coming to its conclusion the down team broke away at speed while our Guys continued on. I noticed Grugan look behind him as if to say, ‘Should we do the same here lads?’ It was only when Forker broke away that Grugan followed suit along with the rest of the team.
Now this might not seem like anything major but in my opinion it looked as though Grugan was looking for direction from his peers rather than being the leader he was chosen to be. I personally don’t think he’s captain standard at inter county and feel this takes away from his game.
Overall I think it’s something that’s holding this team back and is the crux of a lot of our problems I.e a real lack of leadership

Maybe Grugan’s game was affected by the supposed expectations that come with being captain?

He’s not really a shouter or cajoler, and the expectation that he should be could distract from his game.

If you think Hall offers nothing then you didn’t watch one league game

Osin O’Neill If fit would come into contention but prob need a few impact players off the bench as well!!
Soupy Campbell does well coming off bench too.

Good team there. McQuillan into half back instead of Forker. Grimley into the middle and Oisin half forward. Creally to miss out.
Just think Oisin has more power around the middle and more experienced in big games. Creally a good option off the bench.

There are so many keyboard warriors on this forum that spout on about who is or isn't good enough for the county. The team we have is brilliant. There may be players out there with bags of talent but haven't committed to the team because of one reason or another. It doesn't matter to me.

If the players selected give everything for the orange jersey on the pitch they are highly regarded in my estimations. We should support everyone and stop having fantasies about who could be playing when they are not in the fold.

It is a fact that if an u20 player plays senior before the u20 season is over they cannot play u20 again. Like last year if Armagh are far enough in the championship and if the u20's don't go far they will join the senior team.

Couldn't agree more with this post, no pleasing some people win or lose it seems. If your ma had balls she'd be your......
Just enjoy the victory and look forward to Clones and Cavan and whatever 20 or 25 play a part you can be assured they'll be giving it their all
