Does feel like little reward for winning your province facing a rested team who’ve had a few weeks to prepare for us, realistically we’ll not get a whole pile of work done this week between potential Monday clubs ;) and recovery for the lads after 90 tough minutes. I wish they’d number 1 not do the draw until after the provincial final is played and number 2 seed it so provincial winners get the 4 lowest ranking teams by league position (would also help leagues be more competitive and meaningful.

I’m sure we’ll be flying by next weekend and hopefully the rain stays off. Maybe by the time Casement is built they’ll have found money for a retractable roof :D

That said, Derry is one of the 4 lowest league teams.

A roof over Casement would be a game changer, not only for GAA games, but renting it out for events. They really should check out technologies.

True but we could just as easily have had Donegal.

Moreso doing the draw so early I have issue with, even if they had drawn the Connacht and Munster finalists last week and the Ulster/Leinster today it would be better.

More chance of Jamie Bryson being in the Atheltic grounds next week belting out G stands for Geezer and the national anthem than them roofing Casement….

Just me or were there less/no drunken idiots on the Hill yesterday? I was closer to the Eastern stand end but didn’t see any hassle. There were a large group of young Monaghan ones close to the commentary box who were loud but all seemed well behaved. Maybe I just hit lucky

Derry won’t be fearing us too much given Tyrone and Monaghan both took us to extra time. They’ll likely have the edge in midfield with Glass & Rodgers and with our injury woes in that area. Feeling this one will follow a similar script to the above mentioned games.

Seen flares up there and plenty of groups singing and all that
No doubt there was a lot of drink up there

It didn't seem as wild which was likely as tickets were harder to get and more controlled. It doesn't seem like a benefit anymore to win a province and counties like Derry and Donegal have had weeks to prepare for the next round... all teams in same boat can lose 2 more times so you haven't a extra life as such as ulster champs

There were as many Guards in Clones as I have ever seen. Not only the affable types giving directions, but a squad kitted out to restore order. There was one boy in Fermanagh Street arrested as I walked back, the chatter around was that drugs had been spotted.

Was good to see. Seemed to pass off smoothly and fair play if they’re lifting people for that shite.

Why someone can’t go to a game and take a couple of pints before/after or not if it’s not their thing without whacking God knows what sort of dirt up their nose I don’t know.
