Solid if not spectacular performance last night. I don't think we had any real stand out performances and rather it was more a team result. Derry are much more limited than I thought.

There are elements of the game we control well now and I think we have handled the loss of crealey well to date. The pace at which we transition is absolutely fantastic and the players are well drilled in their roles. Conaty takes a lot of opposing defenders out of position and frees room for others and it's great to view the way we try to manipulate this.

We left a fair bit behind us last night in poor enough conditions, butchered 2 goal chances and a few bad wides which negates a lot of the easier chances Derry missed. We also put serious pressure on their shot taker which was great to see as it's impossible in the new game to completely nullify teams.

Maybe it's just me, but I feel the next round of games should be nuetral venue should they not??

Great team performance, which I think is always better than relying on one or two individuals. Thought the black card was extremely harsh and Derry got a few scores as a result. It shows how crucial discipline is, with new rules it's more important than ever to keep 15 on field at all times. I think the short kickout is way too risky especially in the monsoon conditions - always more comfortable with the long kick out.

Definitely think next round should have been neutral venues. Let's hope we're first out if the hat.

Just my thoughts on last night

Very professional performance even though we weren't at our very best .

Oisin Conaty was well marked but actually created lots of spaces for others with his selfless running , his turnover on Glass was my highlight of the match , McCluskey is a great corner back but he is also a big attacking threat for Derry and this negated that option for them.

Thomas McCormack really stepped up last night , McMullan solid as ever , Derry had Turbo , Conaty man marked but we had to many attacking threats for them .

I was right in front of the Duffy Black Card although i was following the ball and I didn't see it , there was an awful whack out of it , however I seen a replay and it looked harsh .

Derry looked very unconfident in front of goal , McGuigan was well off it , I was expecting a big push when they had the wind in the scoring end , i dont think they have moved on from losing Gallagher .

I'm reading hear about the Murnin injury and its worrying considering we are so light in midfield , he still very important for us , hopefully its not to serious , I seen Ciaran Mackin last night he didn't take part in the warm up so I'm assuming he's injured as well . is Ethan an outfield option ?

Blaine dices with death on a few kick outs , he still remains fairly calm though , is the short possession outside the arc worth the risk ? I think Gilligan told him to change the strategy after the second turnover , easy goals like that are big momentum changers and the Donegal's and Kerry's would lap that up and it would be hard to get them scores back .

Hoping now for a home draw , You would hope to avoid Donegal or Galway but i suppose you have to play them sometime.

Just to add I'm happy for @BananaMan that we won the game , I heard McGeeney might have been hunting him down if we didnt . ;)

Comfortable, professional performance without really hitting overdrive. Scoreboard flattered Derry-despite their own inaccuracies, it was a 5 point hammering.
Being nervous is my default setting before most Armagh games, and my jitters increased when I seen the Derry line out at the end of the week and that was a strong line up. I think Niall McCoy pointed out, based on the first 15s announced, Derry had 5 All Stars Armagh had 2. I anticipated Derry to play with an anger and determination to get back on track after the Monaghan smash and grab. Maybe they set out in that mind set-but I thought they looked spooked and I think that reflects our intensity and workrate draining their confidence up front-which was fragile. We've seen that in quite a few games in which the opposition get the jitters, hitting bad wides and making bad decisions. That's not random coincidence, but hard and smart defence.

Just on the parade last night

I got a mixed reception when i walked past one of the bands , Some were delighted to see me, then when they saw the Armagh jersey one said 'yr som Lundy' one even said they would take me off their banner , me I just want to keep all Orangemen together .

Derry went into that game expecting Armagh to play a certain way and McGeeney threw a curve ball and I don't think they had an answer.

McKay is hungry for a goal, when Mc Cambridge is back then two are going to be a nightmare.

Our two Corner backs should have had goals last night - so should Derry (McCluskey) its a whole new ball game
