Fundraising initiative generates over £260,000 for Armagh clubs
While the Armagh GAA Club Draw is a relatively new fundraising initiative, now in its third-year it has proven to be a catalyst for driving club funds.
With the primary aim to generate funds for clubs while supporting the vision for a new county training facility, it has already generated a staggering £260,000 for clubs across the county.
Praising the work of clubs and driving home the importance of the Club Draw, Michael Savage, Armagh County Chairman said,
“This fundraising initiative is available to every club in the county and already we have seen the huge benefits based on the past two-year’s with over £260,000 invested directly into our clubs.
“Clubs have really embraced this initiative and are really making the draw their own with many tailoring this as part of their fundraising plans and priorities. We have already seen success of this with clubs using the much-needed resources to complete minor works, improve facilities and simply maintaining day-to-day running costs.
“The main objective of this club draw is to provide clubs with a risk-free platform to fundraise but it also provides an opportunity to support the vision for a new county training facility. Our clubs agreed all county funds generated will go directly to the development of a much-needed dedicated facility and as a direct result of the club draw, we now have over £66,000 in this funding pot.
“I want to take this opportunity to thank our clubs and all patrons who have supported the club draw, we are truly grateful for your support and I wish you all success in the 2020 Club Draw with some brilliant prizes up for grabs.”
With four-monthly draws, tickets are now on sale from every club in the county with the first draw taking place in March 2020.
Over 100 prizes are on offer with a total prize fund worth over £90,000. Tickets cost £100 for four-draws with a guaranteed 80% raised going directly back into club funds (after each club reaches their minimum target).
The four monthly draws will take place in March, April, May and June 2020
