Strange question but is there an instruction that umpires are not to remove a second ball from the field to allow kick outs to be taken. Infallible Deegan told an umpire not to do it on Saturday and he knows his rules

I'm very bad at explaining myself and have dyslexia so bear with me lol. There ares two ball on field why does the keeper have to quick other ball off field and not the umpire..the umpire went to remove it on Saturday and deegan told him to get back

this isn't a new thing I've seen it happen in championship club games and inter County games before

I've just noticed it more this year and the they did go to get it on Saturday to be told no. So keeper has to stop his kick out remove other ball which was probably closer to umpires in first place and umpires never see off the ball stuff what are you talking about

Referees instruct their umpires that they are not "ball boys" because while they are retrieving a ball they are neglecting their duty to insure nothing off the ball goes unseen - or something along those lines. Not always enforced, but that's the advisory.

In Croke park they have some people behind the goals to retrieve the ball

Perhaps this could be at all inter county games and that play can continue especially when some teams use it as a ploy to interrupt play

No need to explain what you meant, your 1st post was perfectly clear. :)

They're supposed to be neutrals - e.g. if Dublin are playing Laois they would be from Wexford, Kildare etc. so that no-one can say they are quicker for Dublin than their opponents. Well, that's the way it's supposed to be so it is!

Careful now @Big Jim

If you continue to talk perfect sense, you might end up getting a free ride in the back of a big van!
