Junior Football League 2020

Heard belleek v Forkhill was off tonight because 2 Forkhill players have Covid-19. Blow it up ref..call the season before we all get it

I assume Forkhill/Belleek down as a draw is a system glitch?
I was told (and I can't say for certain, admittedly) that each team is getting a point each.

Potentially massive can of worms imo. If a team is missing players they can say a player has come into contact with someone who tested positive and cancel the game with no evidence, yet get a point?? I'm not saying that's what happened in this instance of course, but it could happen at the business end of the season and affect placings.

Odd ruling if true

I'd take that with a huge pinch of salt
There's no rule for doing so
Either the game is refixed or voided.

As I said, I can't confirm the validity of it but the source is generally reliable and both teams have been awarded a point each on the official site. We'll see how it pans out shortly I'm sure

Feck that could be open to serious abuse if a struggling team met a stronger team in one of the divisions where relegation is possible!! A point could be the difference between staying up and going down.
You'd like to think that isn't happening here!!!

It would be helpful if the county board came out and stated what the contingency plans are for such situations
The county board are likely to do anything there were two junior league games abandoned last year due to fighting Clady v Belleek and Lissummon v Derrynoose and the county board then put in the scores which the refs had at the time as the final score instead of deducting points or other fines. Likely the same outcome will occur in the two intermediate A league games abandoned over the last 2 weeks and belleek will get to play Forkhill

There isn't any consistency on those matters though. The year prior to that our game against forkhill was abandoned due to an injury, we were winning with a couple of minutes to play and the game had to be replayed (no problem, their player had a bad one so we were 100% behind the decision to wave the game off) The second game we were 13 points up, had just been awarded a penalty in injury time and there was a bit of boxing and the ref walked off after it had subsided. Match was voided

Clady won tonight, made hard work of it. Both teams got a man sent off, Newtown keeper got black carded clady missed a penalty then got another one shortly after and scored it to win
