So basically friendlies? What good would that do anyone? As has been asked before, if we were in division 2/3 and hoping for promotion would you be so against this split league?

Yes, I did point out in my original post that we're not going to be the only county affected by this. This is not the league & no-one will convince me otherwise. We've worked hard to earn the right to be playing in the top tier, as other counties have worked hard for their promotions through the divisions, this competition is no reward for all that hard work.

We are still in the top tier. We will be playing division one teams. We aren’t playing division 2/3/4 teams

Did I at any point say we were playing teams from Division 2, 3 or 4? It's obvious you hold a different viewpoint to mine but surely even you must recognise this is not the League? If it is then the obvious thing would be to stick with this new format from here on, I mean if everyone's happy with it why not. Think of the travelling & money it would save the County Boards & indeed supporters & sure who wouldn't want to be playing local derbies on an even more regular basis, McKenna Cup, National League, Ulster Championship, sure think of the novelty it would be playing a County from another Province in the Super 8s or qualifiers :D

You said we earned the right to play in the top tier. You are correct. And we are playing in the top tier. We are gonna get 4 games against top tier opposition. Is it ideal? No. Is it better than nothing or friendlies? Damn right it is

Don't forget at 6:01pm the most important draw since Ralf Harris - too soon??? Don't worry it'll not be at 6:01pm

I'm told by a great source it's Down in the Athletic Grounds.

I assume 1 plays 2 and 3 plays 4 , it used to be that the premil winners went to the last 1/4 final but with all games probably on the same weekend i say thats been stopped.
