Mayo v Armagh

Quick thoughts - I've never been to a match in Castlebar, but I do recall us having a very good league win there in our most recent stint in Division One.

There's a lot of positives though to be brought from the victory in Clones and that should instill a great degree of confidence in the players, so there's no reasons why they should not go down feeling anything other than positive!

Shocking draw , the wind has been knocked right out of me , Mayo despite the defeat against Roscommon are still All Ireland contenders , we are massive outsiders and really up against it , however Down did cause them problems and Mayo may underestimate us .

I was at the league game in Castlebar when we beat them and a certain BJP had a great game for us , we really need every player at 100% to have any chance .

I know it is the toughest draw we could have got but i am not overly disappointed. This Armagh team need to see where they are really at and an away game against Mayo will be a super test for thi syoung team. I know we have beaten Monaghan who are a div1 team but they were very poor this year and again on Saturday. Another high intensity pacey performance will be required along with a more assured defensive effort. We can give them a good rattle.

Well it couldn't have been any tougher but we will go with a lot of confidence and the pressure will all be on Mayo.

How long/ best way of going to Castlebar, just via Sligo?

their style will suit us and we are starting to hit some form.

Tough one. Good draw for the beaten provincial finalists with two of their toughest possible opponents guaranteed to go out.

I'm delighted with the draw. It's the one we should be ready for. I can't see beyond a comprehensive Armagh victory. They are brilliant at the moment.

Armagh will head to Mayo with nothing to loose. I see a lot of Monaghan in this current Mayo team, they have been on the road a long time and seem to be suffering from years of battle scars. If I remember correctly Derry went down to Castlebar and took them to extra time a year or two ago. Nothing to fear

Great draw, zero pressure on us and all on mayo. Team will likely head down Friday evening so a night together will actually work in our favour I reckon as opposed to playing at home.

If we fear Mayo then what's the point, I would rather we test were we are now than go to the super 8s just to make up the numbers. Its a big ask undoubtedly , but if that team can come away from Castlebar with a win they will feel 100m tall and fear absolutely nobody and that's were you want to be.

Mayo are a very well supported county so lets get there in big numbers and make plenty of noise.

I'm hearing due to a vintage rally in Castlebar the B&Bs are booked out!

Lads Westport is 20 /25 mins from Castlebar lots of hotels there , not cheap however , also Ballina in about 35 mins away also a big further west is Newport 20 mins and Mulranny 35 mins a couple of hotels there .

Could we not fly in and out of Knock?

This is a game where we don't have to wear the favourites tag. Just have to go to Mayo and play football and we will have to defend.
