Just a brief comment on ‘closing out’ games, etc. As far as I can make out we used 29 different players vs. Monaghan, and I believe it to be almost impossible to get stability and consistency from any tactical approach in such circumstances. From now on we should see more stability in the lineup and, hopefully, in carrying out any new tactical goals. Best wishes and hopes to every member of our team…players and coaches…and perhaps a surprise against Dublin just might be in the cards.
Good point. Aidan Nugent fisted the ball against the post during the last few minutes of the game on Tuesday. But for the width of a post, we would have probably won and I suspect the conversations on the forum would be different-expressing satisfaction that for the second game in a row we closed out a win against a team on a comeback.
I do think the team needs a sequence of wins. But against that, I am glad we will not be giving Donegal two previews of our set up before the championship
