I am hoping to attend the minor league match on Saturday between Armagh & Them Uns. Does anyone know what the situation is as regards entry? Can you pay at the gate? Do you need to purchase a ticket online? Can you just turn up & walk in? :) Any info appreciated.

HT score Armagh 0-1 Them Uns 0-12. I wouldn't hold out much hope for us against Derry given this 1st half performance :( We are totally lacking any cohesion & that lot are practically scoring every time they come up the pitch! Our goalkeeper has managed to keep the scoreline down by saving 2 goal chances.

Why has our Minor set up become so poor? I appreciate it is a big question to ask but no win since 2009 and no Final appearance since 2014 is shocking given our previous Minor pedigree.

I dont think its a case our minor setup is poor, our club scene is very poor! We just aren't producing the players. Look at school level, its been a long time since Armagh schools have competed consistently - you get the odd school every few years that pop up ie Ronans, Bessbrook but bar that it's mainly Derry & Tyrone schools, although Monaghan schools are coming good now after years of investment (ie time & money). There are some good young lads on the minor team and no doubt some will make it through to Senior, but clubs and schools need to be doing alot more!

Do we still have development squads? Without wishing to sound like an old fart, the facilities available to GAA players at club, school and county level are unreal and rightfully so. What are Derry and Tyrone schools doing that Armagh one's aren't. I've been at the Abbey with my son on Saturday mornings for soccer and I'd have loved a full sized 4G pitch to train and play on in my school days.

From listening to Oisin Mcconville- on sideline eye podcast I think - the orchard academy has been revamped recently. 10 years later than it should have been he suggested. It will be a few years before the benefit is seen.

I think it would be hard to argue we have any tradition at minor level.

The annual underage scramble to put their teams into div 2 and 3 and leaving division one with a handful of teams surely can't be helping
To be competitive you must play competitive games. It's players that play the games, not coaches trying to re-live their youth.

Schools football is poor and I'd say there's a severe lack of teacher interest in most schools to be competitive.

The Minors are poor cause schools like St Patrick's Armagh,St Paul's Bessbrook,St Ronan's haven't got the talent now a days, when did St Patrick's Armagh last win the MacRory Cup or even make the final plus St Patrick's is full of themuns/midgets

For St Ronan's and Bessbrook I would give them the benefit of doubt as the talent coming through can be cyclical. St Patricks have obviously bigger problems.

How can 2 schools be cyclical and 1 not? All these 3 schools have huge catchments areas but aren't performing at all! St Pats do seem to have a big problem though, dont seem to be competitive at any year group and havent been for some time, and there used to be 3 secondary schools in Armagh town!
