What a year -All Ireland champions I think it’s getting sweeter every day.

What I’m looking for here is a moment that you remember specifically, obviously we have had loads but what short memory stands out in the year?

Believe it or not all my moments that I was thinking of we’re on the semi final , the moment that makes me smile the most was half time at extra time when seven nation army came on and All the Armagh fans got up started waving their flags and singing in unision , it still gives me goosebumps, it was a statement that we believed we were going to do it , the belief was there , I wonder if the players noticed it ?.

Happy Christmas and a prosperous new year to all forum members, their families and the admin lads as well ,

So hard to pick one. So many from the semi, Barrys goal, Rians pass and Turbos run late on, the singing afterwards.

Then the final- Soupys run and Aarons goal, Joes block, Big Bens tackle under the Cusack, the sheer elation at the final whistle, Aidans speech, Jarly Og and Jarlaths hug.

If I had to pick one it would be Niall Grimleys long range score in the final, great catch, man hanging out of him and he absolutely leathers it over the bar, properly inspirational score.

What a brilliant year, hope everyone has a great Christmas and a happy and successful 2025.

Also, thoughts with everyone who has lost a loved one in the last year or so, especially the Finnegan, Grimley and McElvanna families and also to the Gormleys, this can be a rough time of year for those in grief.

On a happier note, lets hope for more big days out in Croker and for Sam to be coming up the road with us again in 2025.

Yeah that will live long in the memory. That was a truly magical few minutes where everyone just seemed to just lose all control of their senses and bounce around like a bunch of mad eejits. Amazing the euphoria that that victory brought.

In hindsight, it was the insurance point. But as Kerry attacked just after, launching that ball into the square, I was thinking, Jaysus Turbitt, why didn't you go for the goal!!

But that catch by Rian was unreal. But Jaysus, my dicky ticker was going ten to the dozen by that stage.

In some ways the semi final can be the most enjoyable, this was the case in 2002 also when the Dublin game was a cracker and there was an enormous relief when Cosgrave missed the point. We had actually played a bit and beaten a contender, the Sligo games had not seen Sam winning performances. Semi finals can have more fans, as tickets are readily available and more kids etc can go.

I was thinking this myself. And there’s also having the final, the build up etc to look forward to after winning a semi final.

Big bens turnover in the final was a pivotal moment that has been forgotten about , not dismissing the block it was massive , but we lost the kickout , Galway had the momentum after two scores in a row , than this happened , of course we had to hit the post , makes it more enjoyable now , Christ I'm amazed i wasn't carried out of the ground on a stretcher .

With me in the stretcher beside you. If I'd actually been in the ground, of course.

Ben's interception was a big moment, and I remember the roar from the crowd as we raced upfield. In that moment, I thought, Jaysus we're really going to do this!!

Then we probably (in hindsight) should have played keep ball instead of shooting, ball hits the post, and they work it down the other end and I'm thinking, ah Jaysus we're not going to do this!! My head is about to explode at this point. Then, the block, the pickup by McKay, the ball played out of defence... the hospital pass, the arms outstretched... the jubilation... the mayhem... the relief... the realisation we are champions... and the damned hayfever starts...

Funny one but Oisin O'Neills point in the final was probably thus first time i let myself go a little. There was about 7/8 minutes left and it put us 3 up. Thats when i knew we were on the home straight.

There are so many wonderful moments to look back on, that it is difficult to pick one in particular. Someone mentioned the aftermath of the Kerry game, which was very, very special. The moment Jarlath hands over Sam to Aidan Forker will live also long in the memory. "And now for the formalities...".

A moment for me was the Mass held in St Pat's Cathedral on the Saturday of All Ireland weekend, when the The Boys From the County Armagh was sang with gusto. I am annoyed I didn't go, but a family member recorded it on video and I find it very moving.

I’m surprised you weren’t chased out of the Creggan, McCoist :D

I agree with you though. We were brilliant that day. Afterwards I thought, hmmm... just maybe we could do this.
