Only with our first 15 I’d say Niall. If rian and Murnin are out for a while we are done. Plus can we please start defending before our 30 yard line. Few Tyrone points I honestly don’t think an armagh player even touched a Tyrone jersey.
Rian should be back for (hopefully) some of Ulster.

Murnin, my God, what more can you say? Lad has had the most ridiculous look. Was surprised he played on for a few mins after it happened. Hoping that's a positive sign

In patches we played well today. And at least we tried to play. We were relegated today but the root cause of the relegation wasn’t in today’s performance.

Tyrone edged it today but I don’t think a draw would have been a harsh result for them. But over the course of the season do we deserve relegation? I would say yes. And it’s hardly been a vintage league.

We need a bit of a rethink and there was some signs of management recognition of that today. I commend that.

On McGeeney and the wider management setup. Some absolute nonsense here on both sides of the argument. I think we are at the stage, given his tenure where McGeeney’s future should be decided based on our championship performances this year. And on that basis let’s hope he is our manager next year. But it is now or never.

We should be getting to the AI series. The benefit of that system is that it doesn’t all hinge on 1 result and therefore the luck of the draw. We will get a chance to show where we are at and that is the time to assess.

Talk of ditching a manager now should be confined to the play-mat

As a matter of fact, I am happy with the current management team, yes.

I think it's a bit naive to suggest that if we'd went all out attacking in Tralee we'd have got 2 points. We had two men in Clifford for a start. Sacrifice that and you don't know what the outcome would have been.

Galway were the team with 15 men behind the ball for the first 35 minutes. We reacted to it. Had we went all out then again, we'd have struggled. We'd one in front and one behind Walsh that day too.

So on two occasions we sacrificed an extra body to stop a danger man. And it left us just short. The goal conceded against Galway was a shocker but had we stumbled over the line that day and stayed up, all roads would lead to the Championship and the mood and conversation here would be very different.

We've had horrendous luck with injuries this campaign, tipified with Murnin going off today. There's some players that I personally wouldn't have playing at the minute and would leave on the bench but the difficulty then is that we don't have the replacements. And therein lies my comment about not having a good enough squad.

That's my one criticism of management, team selection on some occasions. But again, don't have the players.

So I'll stay positive. But everyone is entitled to their opinion.
While I dont disagree with what you say you cant mention the goal we conceded against Galway, as bad as it was, and not mention the luckier one we scored that day

Division 2 won't be easy next year either, Donegal, an improving cork, Cavan, Kildare I wouldn't be convinced we will get promoted, performance was better than other days this year we where within a score of all games but unfortunately the wrong side of many of them, couple of weeks until Antrim so will hopefully kick on

Like everyone I'm very disappointed that we are relegated and not winning one of the games against Mayo , Roscommon or Galway was always going to put us in bother , i didn't see the match today , but by all accounts it looks like we improved in our performance , beating Tyrone in Omagh is not a thing that will happen often by many teams .

I have been critical about the way we have played over the league , however the season only really starts now , come August not too many people remember who wins the league etc. Hopefully we learn and evolve , the management isn't going anywhere until we are knocked out of the championship, so a couple of wins against Antrim and Cavan and the bandwagon will be rolling again .

Time to take a breath and see what unfolds in the Summer.

Tough one to take that, and the loss of Murnin midway though the first half didn't help at all. Hopefully it's not a bad injury.

Relegation truth be told wasnt inflicted on us today, it was against Roscommon, Galway, Kerry where we just didn't kick on when in decent positions. It was against Mayo when we slackened off at the start of the second half.

Performance wise, today was an improvement in a lot of areas, but the handling errors and some poor judgement calls ultimately cost us. We haven't found a balance between defence and attack this year. We haven't attacked agressively enough when we have won turnovers.

Our midfield has performed better as the league has wore on, though our overall performances have declined. It's frustrating, because I actually think it's a weak enough era for football now that the dubs have come into the pack. Truth be told there isn't a pile of difference between the bottom 4 teams in Division 1 and the teams in Division 2 or the majority off them, and division 2 will be a nightmare next season. 4 Ulster teams and a resurgent Cork. It'll be an absolute slog, so the standard of fare we watch likely won't be much better.

Antrim will be harder beat in Ulster than people realise, though we have enough in theory to win as along as we approach it right. Cavan are a banana skin and back in Division 2 and will be tough. If we beat them then Down/Donegal await. And we now know there is a slight albeit very slim chance we don't play an all Ireland series if we don't qualify for the Ulster final. Again this is a very very slim chance.

Management in truth, do have a lot to answer for this season, though somewhat mitigated by injuries to Connaire Mackin, Crealey, Oisin O Neill, Nugent (who still looks short of pace post injury) Ciaran Mackin and Morgan.

Everyone is flattened by relegation and no doubt the players are as well. It's nothing new, we've been round the block and the divisions before, and we will go round again. There is now a spring and summer of football hopefully and a lot still to play for. So on we go, no option but to dust ourselves down and go again. And do you know what we will.

I said during the week that management would be in place for the season and they will be. So it's pointless calling for heads now. Questions to be asked yes, but any changes will be post championship, and let's hope we can recover and put in a showing on that front. I will be there supporting, I'm sure we all will be.

Just to add although i have no idea how Mayo played today and its our own fault we were relegated , i suspect Mayo never got out of 2nd gear today , easy to say after the result but I could not understand the amount of people on here that thought it was a given that Mayo would beat Monaghan when they had nothing to play for and the other side were fighting for their lives .

Can't trust a team with nothing to play for. Mayo where always gonna make changes

At the outset of the league, staying in Division 1 was my goal, to create as smooth a path as possible to next years All-Ireland series. We are not where we want to be next year NFL-wide, though harm can be undone with a strong Division 2 campaign.
We have been depleted by injuries this year which have affected our ultimate standing, though we have basically lost our Dividion 1 berth through our inability to finish numerous goal chances against Roscommon. Realistically, we have not been thumped by any team despite producing poor displays often in the campaign.
With players back, there will be brighter days ahead, obviously my orange-tinted glasses kicking in.
This year is a whole new experience with our qualifying for the All-Ireland series irrelevant of our league or provincial exploits. That is where we should see where we are as a team.
Keep the faith!

Disappointed with being relegated. Staying in Division 1 I felt was important for the continuing development of the team by playing the top teams.

Today's performance I thought was decent and was a good match to watch I felt. Couldn't really say anybody had a bad game. But thought few stood out most notably Forker, Turbitt, Grimley and Soupy in the 2nd half.

Looking back we lost by a point to Galway and Kerry both who would be serious contenders for Sam this year. But results matter and unfortunately we came out on the wrong side of too many tight games.

Looking forward to the Antrim game which we should be expecting to go out and put in a good performance. After that Cavan won't be a gimme but would still be confident of having a good ulster.

Disappointing result, considering it was extremely winnable, but relegation is probably a fair reflection of where Armagh are at. I don’t think we have the strength in depth, especially at the back, to be D1 regulars. You can point at injuries and who’s missing but that’s where the top teams differ - they have someone just as good or almost as good to come in and fill the gap.
