2 good teams, I'd switch Morgan and Finn, I'd have Ciaran Higgins in too and kierans instead of woods, is Kennedy coming back?

Morgan definite starter.

Had conversation recently with non Armagh people (boo hiss) and they asked who Armaghs best 5 players are currently

I was a bit stuck after first 3 to finalise my 5

I landed on

Rian ONeill
Aidan Forker
Rory Grugan
Stefan Campbell
James Morgan

Yeah they’d probably be mine as well- maybe have Nugent in somewhere though

Take out O'Neil and Grugan then it becomes tough. Think they are top quality.

After that there are a number of players at good level. Soupy, Forker, Mackin, Burns, Nugent, Morgan. All good players but hard to pick one over the other

Oisin O’Neill as good as any of them when he’s fit as well as is TK. Hope we can get a good run without injuries/suspensions this year to show what we can do.

Jarly Og has to be in there
Morgan was excellent for Armagh this year but was noticeably average for Cross in championship

Understand Oisin O'Neill has a long term injury, would be a great addition. Kennedy could easily be added to the panel.

I think if you are saying first five names on the teamsheet its Forker, Jarly Og, Grugan, Rian and Nugent. We have lots of other amazing on their day footballers that with consistency move into that category although Mackin pre injury and Soupy last year run close.

Forker aside we seem to have a lack of defenders in the lists. Not in the top 5 theme but Joe McIlroy was excellent last year for Harps and would be a positive readdition to the panel along with Kennedy. Ronan Fitzpatrick also has the potential to be a superb county level footballer. Lee Rice when recovered and Ross Finn Could develop into seriously good defenders with O'Neill who has progressed really well.

On the whole I think we have talent there and coming through but feel the volume we have is more attacking based. Feel we are missing an up and coming full and centre half back. Any suggestions?

Greg McCabe was really impressive at times last year. Barry McCambridge and Shea Heffron 2 more excellent defenders but for whatever reason haven’t made the step up properly yet. Decky Loye another.

I'd agree with you on McElroy also Higgins and mccambridge also if you could get Kennedy and heffron all good defenders but the reason we all have forwards in our top 5 is because they would get in most counties and we probably have a good few defenders around the same level so are not as consistent in having the same defenders year in year out would really like to see McElroy back anyways

How the hell is there nothing official re NFL fixtures? Hotel rooms are being booked, Skeltons are advertising buses, plans already seem made yet nothing from the GAA? Seems silly

Hughes is no longer there, a new number 2 required for 2023. On the basis of what I’ve seen it would need to be another converted outfielder. Kennedy, Loye and McElroy all stepped away a year or more ago.

How 4 grange players have been added if true is a mystery as they had a very poor year, who are they?

Some of those listed from cross would still be U20s and should be let at that first, eg Fitzpatrick and Finnegan. Not sure on O’Callaghan where would he be in comparison to the other forwards already on the squad? The clamour for Jamie to be a county player again is based on the player he was several years ago. That ship has sailed methinks.

Probably the 2 McKennas who have been around the panel before plus Rafferty and Justin Kieran
