In regards the incident where hall and turbo were black carded, I was standing fairly close to it and it was totally the fault of Greg mc Cabe. I think we were ahead by 20 af the time and tbh his behavior was totally unacceptable. He lost his place due to discipline last year and as Shane mc guigan showed today cards must be avoided.
Yeah I was expecting him to be put off. Thought he got the Derry man in a headlock but hadn’t the best view of it.

He has been playing some great stuff too bar the Kerry game and would need to wise up.

I totally agree. He's a good solid, tough player and there'd be a place for him if he dropped the hard man thing. Forker got it right over last couple of years and really improved the team. Greg is too risky at this moment in time and cost us the Galway game a couple years ago trying to break someone in 2 in the middle of the pitch as opposed to just standing him up.
Our greatest strength last year was our discipline. It's been poor this year so far, hopefully we see it back and see Greg being a bit more controlled.

It's notable that the two league finalists are from the two weakest provinces. Mayo face Sligo (who finished mid table of div 3) in the first round in Connacht and Kerry face absolutely nobody in the first round of the Munster championship, instead they get a bye to the semi final where they meet the winners of Cork and Limerick. The league final will benefit these two teams whereas it would be a hinderance to any Ulster team.

Agree with this 100%. I also was standing on that side and McCabe should have been at least black carded. Senseless stuff, no need to get involved whatsoever. And he actually had a pretty decent game and scored a really well taken point. However this incident and the macho nonsense in the Kerry game seem to indicate he has not changed his stripes and is a liability.
Red card under these new rules and you might as well forfeit the game.

Connacht has Galway, Mayo and Roscommon. All division one next year, no less than what Ulster will have.

Id say Leinster, along with Munster, are the weakest provinces

League status confirmed after an entertaining last day, I'd say our depth has been shown in this league although I'd worry about some of the away performances, I think murnin has been outstanding for us but I think mcquillan has been great also and has shown he can be a starter for the big championship games, we beat Derry who have one of the best midfields on the game with a patched together middle area, breaking ball is massive and I think McCabe and Ciaran mackin are great in this area, positive signs for championship but I think we need some consistency

Yeah, I noticed Galway made 4 or 5 changes prior to throw in. They would have had a trip to NY a week after the NFL final, so probably wanted the week off, given the travel involved. So in hindsight, I wasn’t surprised Kerry beat them with a bit to spare.

Mayo should beat Sligo handy enough, so as you say, the two finalists could do with another competitive match, compared to the other teams.

The league final thing is a farce though. Most teams only take it serious for 4 or 5 weeks. Avoiding the final is nearly as important as avoiding relegation. What are HQ playing at anyway? They’ve had years to address this but clearly can’t be bothered.

Did the Armagh player make contact with the Derry goalkeeper for our third goal? If so I can't understand how it stood. Not complaining BTW however had the game been of more importance to Derry they could feel rightly aggrieved.
He did indeed, but the ball was already over the line by a good two foot before the contact. The keeper caught it and spun round into the net for some reason. The funny thing was the umpires didn't give the goal at all until Geough had some form of communication over the wave lengths and then suddenly the Umpire produced the Green flag?? It was a bizarre situation and could easily have been interpreted as a free out (Which would have been wrong)

Armagh done what they had to do yesterday, they moved the ball quick and when they smelt the blood at the start of the second half they finished the game off. The last 20 mins were essentially just a friendly as the game was gone for Derry and Armagh were trying things they would'nt normally try. We conceeded 1-18 around 1-10 of that was Derry down to 14 so that could have been tighter. Fully agree with this hard man carry on, players steaming into these things and it turns into a pulling a hauling match doesn't make people hard. McCabe was also goading at McGuigan after the sending off, similiar to Paudie Clifford last week and there's no no call for it.

Discipline is going to be key going forward, in what is going to be a tight Ulster, I would be fairly certain we will be meeting Tyrone in a semi final and they will be very fired up to topple Armagh, the slightest bit of stupidity or indiscipline will be enough to tip the balance in games like these.

Bottom line we stayed up with a mixed campaign, but deep down we always knew it was going to be a league like this and when you look at the table every other team except Derry (who were also unlucky in a few games) had the same campaign. On that basis there are 6 or 7 teams in the mix for an All Ireland and this includes Armagh, there's nothing out there with the wow factor so focus the minds and lets have another rattle at it.

On a separate note, the under 20s play wednesday and the squad hasn't been announced yet which is unusual. They usually announce the squad for the year a while before championship starts,

There's no thinking - it's happening and at inter county level.
At club level it's going to be horrific
Yes
And will create bigger gulf between county teams in different divisions, similar to hurling. Its not with arrogance or any level of relish I say this, but Armagh v Antrim could be really ugly in terms of a scoreline.
