I'm sure there is lots of speculation but does anyone know for sure who has been asked on to the panel. A particular FB site has indicated (slightly tongue in cheek) that there are wholesale returns so not too sure. Anyone from your club been given a call that you know of?

The rumour mill is in overdrive at the minute "as usual", but nothing solid. Not even sure if they've started back training yet. I know the Hurlers are. Did notice Geezer at a "lot" of championship games. Can't say all, because I wasn't at all of them obvs!!!!!

Did I hear Mc Corry going back to kilcoo and Armagh talking to Tony Mac to see if he will come on board
Perhaps bcb can confirm?

Sorry to see Jim go if true, very nice man who I had a gr8 chat with up in portlaois before the mtch this year. Tony Mac would be a gr8 replacement though, hopefully he’s interested as there now should be a very talented panel to work with

Can’t confirm anything. Last I spoke with Tony he was taking some time out but that may have changed

I'd be very disappointed if McCorry was to leave.

I'd be delighted if Tony mcentee joined the management, but I really can't see that happening.

The forward line starting to take shape nicely:

Grugan O'Neill forker
Clarke murnin campbell

Although I do remember most of them not firing in the marshes a few years back!

Mcquillan / Duffy / ohanlon / mcparland / Nugent / j.grugan to name a few pushing for places.

Disappointing to hear about Ethan Rafferty, absolutely no luck with injuries.

Lappin gone from the panel. McParland potentially as well.
Massive commitment being asked for this year, but its the only way the team will kick on I suppose

Sorry to hear that about McParland if it turns out to be true. Had an excellent season in 2017 when he really seemed to have worked hard and was finally delivering on the potential he showed as a minor. Was then unfortunate to suffer a concussive head injury early in 2018 which kept him out of most of the games. Pity.

wonder if putting the best lads off is the right way to push on
Dont know the circumstances on McParland but Lappin has other business and work commitments and that would have ruled him out regardless of the amount of time required for county this year AFAIK

Possibly. I don’t honestly know. I would think Morgan definitely will, the o Neill’s pretty likely and Hughes more than likely.

BCB, would you agree the club season should be wrapped up before the NFL season commences?

The cross players mentioned should be central to Armagh's 2019 season but if cross win Ulster it becomes difficult for mcgeeney to get them integrated. With all involved from the start of the league Armagh aim for promotion. If cross win Ulster, I'd imagine Armagh will be aiming for mid table.

The fixtures are a disaster and to be honest there’s no right answer. It could be like it was back in the good old days where the national league was started pre Christmas and players were expected to play in both. There are too many variables to consider in having all wrapped up before one starts. Each county runs its own system of club championship and some can get sorted faster than others. I honestly believe that our success has created an aberration and skews people’s opinions. Every year we are expected to do well once we come out of Armagh. The same cannot be said of most clubs in Ireland and therefore it has impacted upon us and Armagh significantly over the last 20’odd years. Should the system be changed because of 2-3 clubs? Dublin and Kerry still contest year on year in the national league even though their county champions are regularly in the later stages. In my opinion The success of Armagh should not be based on the Cross players available but rather in spite of them. Give the other 25-30’players the opportunity to develop and grow and then when any of our players can they come into the squad and team. The same with any other club who is successful
