I’m looking forward to our New Jersey not because I’m going to buy it because I can buy this years one cheaper ,
Ah my Carna Transport jersey is still in decent shape, so it will do me another while yet. Plus, it’s so old, it’s now retro, so I’m back in fashion

Does our current jersey still have a year to go?

By the way, Willie, the jersey in your profile is a classic. I'd love to get it with thee stripes (as in 1980) or no stripes (as in 1982), but not sure if either are available.

My daughter wore my 2002 Morgan Fuels jersey to the All Ireland Final, as retro definitely seems to be in. That means that that jersey has been at both of our All Ireland wins, which means it will now have to be carefully maintained for our next Final appearance.

See above They come in and out of stock Rufus , they are not as good as the original ones but something different, we had an original one of in the house and with the number 5 on it , I’m nearly sure I wore it in the 1990 Ulster final and it was drowning me , I ripped my parents house out looking for it years ago but never found it , if any one ever sees someone with an original and number 5 on it you have my permission to rip It off then .

No wonder we didn’t win that day, when you were playing! And in an oversized jersey as well

I have that jersey , but the one I wore in 2002 was the Morgan fuels 99 one , while the 2002 jersey is iconic I never really liked the look of it

It was the sleeves that was annoying about the 2002 shirt. They were always falling into the mixing bowl and getting covered in flour, when I'd be making buns.

I wore my 2002 shirt again for this year's final. I also found one of those old wristbands from years ago and stuck that on too. Anything that might bring us luck! My lucky pants from 2002 are now my oil rag under the car bonnet, so I couldn't wear them.

I met a fella outside the toilets (easy now :)) in Croke Park at the semi final who had an original Carna transport one with the black lettering , it was a lovely looking jersey with the old material , we chatted for a good few minutes he said he thinks it was the first jersey with a sponsor , im sure someone sponsored us before carna but i never seen the Jersey ?

Mooney Windows was the first sponsor, I believe. We wore it against Down in 1991. Although I think the sponsor was on the back, not the front.

Mooney Windows is 100% correct, Pat. I was sure they were in place in 1990, but a quick check on YouTube confirms you are right. 1991. I got a few photos taken with a couple of our players from back then, proudly wearing those same jerseys, on All Ireland Final Day. Those jerseys - using the less is more principle - still look great.
