Sure need something to get them softies from the North out playing for the county ;).

Joking aside, Portadown isn’t ideal for someone coming the whole way from Cross or Dromintee etc but at the end of the day we’re Armagh not Cork the county ain’t that big, its doable. Good to see this being implemented.

Know it's not ideal for everyone but there are a number of reasons it makes sense . A lot of lads at uni and players living in the Belfast area with the town having a train station and just 25 minutes down the motorway it's a lot handier than say Cross or Cullyhanna.
Not everyone will be happy but if this facility improves us a county that will outweigh any negatives.

Would hope so. There are 2 large car parks within 5 minutes walk of the sight, at Drumcree High School and St John's Church at the top of the G Road. Think there is a stand being built in the complex.

Sounds good. The north of the county needs a venue capable of holding county games and big club championship games. Because it don’t look like Davitt is going to.

All the other centres of excellence host some county and club championship games. No reason why this would be different.

It certainly looks like there'll be a stand on at least one of the fields.

I know it's not directly related to the topic, but I see St. Mary's Aghagallon have announced a new development for their club as well. looks like a new site beside the new housing which is similar if smaller scale than the proposed COE for Armagh

not at senior level
What you mean they don't play senior Hurling and Football at Owenbeg? That'll be a disappointment to the people of Derry who travel there for games.
You mean they don't host Senior football and Hurling games at Darver. That'll be a disappointment to the people of Louth who travel there for games.
True Garvaghey don't host senior county games as far as I know.
Ballykinler isn't built yet.
Cloghan (and Inniskeen) has hosted McKenna cup games, so that'll be a disappointment to the people of Monaghan who travel there for games.

I think you'll get my drift so you will!
