It was confirmed to me today that the O'Fiaich Cup will NOT take place this year as HQ didn't sanction it. The assumption is because of the usual break before restarting county activity. That would seem strange given that my understanding is that it restarts on 8th December and Dublin have already organised one or two challenge games.

Regardless of personal feelings, this year's tournament will not take place. It was a great way to ease back in gently.

I heard from a Tyrone player last week - apologises to anyone offended :p - that this was the case. Sure we should know that players need a rest and playing too many games is bad for you. Sure isn't that why they are introducing the super 8 !
On a positive note at least Armagh are champions for another year!

Gutted, the best part of the run up to Christmas for the last few years. Roll on the McKenna Cup.
