As it stands we have 29 players. We need 32 to cover the Senior and Intermediate championships, which begin next Friday (24th August).
Anyway, if we don't get another 3, we'll have to allocate an extra team to 3 other players (details to follow if needed).
Therefore, we'll have to impose a cut off point of SUNDAY MIDNIGHT for entering, as we'll need time to get things motoring.
I think to allow everyone a chance to pick a senior team, I'll make out a random list of all 32 Senior and Intermediate teams, send list to @Admin1 (providing he/she is ok with that). When the time comes, players choose their number, on a first come first served basis. List will then be revealed by @Admin1. I can take the last remaining number.
It's pretty much similar to the World Cup Sweepstake, which was great craic indeed. Hopefully this will be just as good, if not better.
Any questions, suggestions, abuse, criticism, name-calling... you know where I am...

Super job Pat at getting it as far as you have already. It's a credit to you and your passion for folk enjoying themselves. A heartfelt thank you from myself and the others running the site.
Also thanks to all those putting themselves in the frame for criticism and ridicule. You're truly as mad as the "Mustard man.
Enjoy everyone. I'm thinking the craic might be as mighty with this as on the actual field. Back to @PatMustard to update everyone as and when..................

Surely there would be two mentally stable and normally sensible members to join in and bring some sense of decorum to the proceedings. We particularly invite new members who may not have posted yet to add their names to the list and join in with the craic the site is providing along with great discussions and debates. No one will be allowed to put you down or give you a slagging until your team is picked, then you're fair game with the rest.

I think it should be up to members whether they choose to declare their club or not.
Maybe we'll find out some people's club during this sweepstake. It might be hard for someone to hide their disgust at picking a rival team

OK, deadline has expired.
So, we have 30 players. 28 players will get one team, with 2 players getting a second team.
I have done a random list of all 32 Senior and Intermediate teams, and will send to @Admin1 for safekeeping. Later today (Monday) I will start a separate thread declaring the Sweepstake open. It's first come first served, so just choose your preferred number between 1 and 32.
There will be 2 random numbers with an asterix* in the list. If you choose one of those two numbers, I will let you know, and you get to pick another number. Whichever number(s) is left, that will become my team(s). When all numbers are chosen, @Admin1 will reveal the list.
So keep an eye out for the new thread later today. Try and choose as soon as possible, so we can have all sorted before the first matches on Friday.
