Just under 3 weeks away.

Just wondered if you want to keep same scoring system as before? Or want to add any bonus predictions, wildcards, or minus scores etc to the format?

Any suggestions/comments welcome.

Sorry about not beìng on the ball with picking the numbers in the world cup sweepstàke, but à bit of a health problem laid me low for a few weeks, thankfully I am now on the mend. Might I add my congratulations to Pat Mustard on his great work long May it continue.

Well, with the PPL being a democracy and all, I just thought I’d throw it out there to see if the people had any suggestions for the new season.

I don’t want to be known as some sort of dictator like that Dalai Lama fella.

I'd like to get double points for all my correct predictions with everyone else getting the normal points, other than that happy to proceed with the usual format

3 points - a correct result and score

2 points - a correct result and goal difference (eg. You 2-1, result 1-0. Another example: You 2-2, result 1-1).

1 point - a correct result (eg. You 1-0, result 3-1)

It’s a long time to wait.

The weekly predictions at least gives people renewed hope every week that they can finish top, pull further ahead or claw back important points. Even a bad few weeks doesn’t spell overall disaster.

But we’ll throw your idea out there and see what the people think.

People seem happy enough with the PPL format. But you have given me some ideas though about other possible competitions we could do (provided people aren’t sick of them). Not sure how they’d stand up as a stand alone competition though.

I suppose if we have the interest, we could run your top 4 idea (or top 5).

Maybe even the bottom three?

I’ll leave it out there with everyone to mull over.

Since we seem to be getting about 8/9 players each week for the PPL, I was thinking of a further competition, which won’t be too time consuming to participate in.

As players will be mulling over their predictions anyway, it’s just a prediction of the:

- top scoring team of the week? (although since Liverpool/City are usually free-scoring, the likelihood of a team other than a top side might be less likely).

- team who score earliest/latest of the week?
(at least this way, the odds are that it could really be any team)

- top scoring player of the week?
(although there might be weeks with a lot of players on one goal)

- player to score first?
(ok, that could be anybody, but would be mighty impressive if anyone predicted correctly).
