The aesthetics of the game are what should bring in the crowds but GAA is different. We just go. However, without Orange jerseys winning trophies we lose the ultimate goal for kids.
I could watch a studio talking about the chess games of a GAA game but in the Fortnite age kids want something to grab their attention and run screaming with it.
The thing is, GAA from the golden era of proper hits will get a kid watching more than today’s high speed minimal contact game.
The short pass to the defender is losing a part of the game that we all fell in love with as kids and the game is lesser for it.

Of course it was, the snow was deeper in the winter, the sun warmer in the summer, the grass greener in the spring and the women chancier in the long Autumn evenings

I can see the difference between a player with experience in playing in goal and taking kick outs but getting outfield experience with his club playing in goals for the county having worked on the role with the county over the season and asking Sheridan or Vernon to play goals
I think everyone else can see the difference as well
So now you’re a mind reader too thinking for everyone else.

Well I haven’t met anyone that thinks playing Blaine Hughes or Stephen Sheridan in goals is an equal risk. Have you?
