Caelan Mooney is appealing his red card. Surely a case he cannot win. His actions the other day were a poor sight at the end of the 70 mins. He wasn't supposed to be on the pitch. Hope his appeal doesn't magnify Geezer's shoulder. Part of me wanted Morgan to knock him out. That wouldn't have helped us though :)

I thought he broke his leg in the league. And was it in Davitt Park or am I way off here?

You're 100% on the money about Davitt Park - I'm nearly sure it was Donegal as I've a recollection of a furious Benny Tierney running over to the fence to give off to Donegal supporters who seemed to be suggesting he was not as badly hurt as he was. That injury effectively ended the football career of one the best Armagh full backs I have ever seen and Colm rightly got a mention in Jarlath Burns' speech when lifting the Anglo Celt Cup in 1999.

I distinctly remember Jim McGuiness warming down in front of Armagh supporters after the game laughing his head off - probably about something else but I never liked him ever since .
And to add to debates elsewhere I am nearly sure that Geezer got sent off after Hanratty got carried off for getting a bit of retaliation in!

Ah, so I’m not going mad then.

Yes, it was a shame we never got to see him again. It must have been a horrible leg break.

And yes, many’s a player from 1983-98 got a mention from Mr Burns. Nice touch to remember the men who gave their all, and just didn’t get to climb those steps to lift the Anglo-Celt trophy.

Strange thing is, 17 years then seemed like three lifetimes. At the minute it’s 11 years, and while it’s long enough, it still doesn’t feel as long as that famine.

I could never take Jim McGuinness seriously as a player. Always seemed like he was taking the piss. Like he was a bit of a wildcard squad member, who collected 100 Maxol tokens and was allowed to play with Donegal. I think it was more to do with his Billy Connolly look more than anything.

100% this. It's like you're reading my mind!!

Probably not the place to mention it, but for my sins I follow Leeds in the soccer and they were outside the top flight from 1982 - 1990 and that seemed like forever at the time. Thanks to a recent implosion, they are looking forward to their sixteenth year outside the top flight and somehow it doesn't seem as long! I can only assume an age thing where the older you get the quicker time seems to go!

yes, it was against Donegal in the league at Davitt, played in terrible conditions The crack was palpable. Massive melee in the goals at the Francis Street end as well that day with an oul boy going through the gate to get tore into the donegal players with his unbrella
