Yes, it was a shame we never got to see him again. It must have been a horrible leg break.

And yes, many’s a player from 1983-98 got a mention from Mr Burns. Nice touch to remember the men who gave their all, and just didn’t get to climb those steps to lift the Anglo-Celt trophy.

Strange thing is, 17 years then seemed like three lifetimes. At the minute it’s 11 years, and while it’s long enough, it still doesn’t feel as long as that famine.

Niall didn't we play another McKenna game against one of the schools on a horrible wet day as I seem to remember Paul Carville from Portadown having a great game and falling heavily on a wet field after taking a free that went all the way? I'm thinking he got a call up too after it to the county!

I miss going to games in Davitt Park. Always hated playing in it though. Was about 3 miles from one set of posts to the other!

Here, I’ve just noticed something. In 2017, we scored two goals in Newry against Down. The scorers - Shields and Murnin.
