It's always difficult to compare teams across generations, decades and so on.
There's so much to take into account - playing styles, standards of pitches, fitness, s&c and know how.
However in this instance all other club teams don't get close enough to crossmaglen.
I do believe if those players had the updated fitness & s&c they'd be as close to untouchable as you'd get.
They had plenty of genuine top class footballers, they had forwards who could score, players who knew when to make that critical decision and they most definitely could look after themselves.

Kilcoo play basketball and interject the odd kick pass
They have to be given credit for winning and never say die attitude but it's not football they play.

God, Kilcoo are hard to watch. They got there in the end though (just about), so they won’t give a flip.

Still, it was funny that joint captains in both games (and Mickey Moran, and a dozen childer) lifted the trophy when the practice was meant to be outlawed by the head honchos.

So, two fingers to that daft rule. And quite right too.

Corofin won 3 in a row playing the same type of football with many more hand passes than kick passes, just as Dublin did while winning 6 in a row. Its the way football is at the minute

Cross completely outclassed. I think they may have flattered on their way to winning Armagh, they’ve been badly exposed tonight. The Cross of old were all about game management but tonight they’ve been completely outfought. So naive and indisciplined. Stephen Kernan has probably taken this side as far he can.

Wouldn't go that far. Soft penalty and a few soft frees took momentum against Cross in first half. Stupid black cost them in second. With halftime to organise things questions will be asked of management. Younger players will learn. Also rest of Armagh clubs will be sure they can beat them next year.

Cross got a few lucky decisions themselves. The black was completely avoidable, how they dealt with it (ie didn’t) is was what cost them. You’re right a few clubs in Armagh will certainly have them in their sights.
